"Ball, ball, ball," Leah shouted, waiving her arms, open and out wide. She grimaced when Stacey Barnes took the shot, rolling her wrist outwards. The shot missed by miles and fuck if Leah hated that idiot.

Running over, she shouldered the girl, getting up in her face which was caked with makeup and fake lashes. "If you can't shoot the ball and score, give it to me!"

Stacey looked at her with wide eyes. "You do realise we're on the same team, right?"

Leah glared at the girl as she jogged back to her position, wiping her fringe backwards and out of her face.

In a semi-crouching position, she waited for the ball to be brought up the centre court. Watching the Bright Water girls move up, Leah kept her eye on the redhead who seemed to run with an instep who currently had the ball. As a forward, the girl was probably smaller than ideal, so Leah did what she did best. Getting low into a crouch she shimmied across the court, in-out, in-out, overwhelming the girl as she fought for a way to get through her defence. The sound of her own Nikes squeaking against the surface made Leah smile. It was like her very own symphony. It was a strange notion, but she couldn't help but love everything about ball.

For her, it was life.

When the redhead feigned left, Leah clipped the ball before it could bounce back into the girl's hand.

Running like lighting she steadied her feet and dribbled away, slamming the ball into the polished wood as she made a beeline for the pocket. Instead of a layup, Leah pulled up and pushed, flicking her wrist as her sneakers toed dangerously close to the three-point line.

Her fingers were still pointed in the air when the ball sailed through the net.
