"Hey, Aoko," Kaito said quietly, cutting off another bite of the apple pie from his plate. She looked up at him wordlessly. She had been working problems from previous homework assignments to study for the factoring polynomials test that was the next day. She had slight bags under her eyes, and a tired, vacant look on her face; no doubt from the Kid heist that occurred the night before. No doubt did she show up at the heist displaying her anti-Kid posters only to be bullied from the ever so loyal fan girls. There was a pale purple discoloration on her arms that wasn't there before the heist but she never voiced its existence. And of course, Kaito distracting her from studied for the major test and eating the last slice of apple pie she made didn't seem to help her.

"Did you know that time is really similar to time?" he asked her. She sighed, agitated but the question. "Kaito, I'm trying to study, I don't have time for your stupid riddles. Come on and help me with number five," Aoko sighed into her textbook. Kaito ignored her request and continued.

"It takes a lot to make it, but little to take it." He sat on the foot of her bed, watching Aoko look at him with curiosity and slight agitation. He ate another bite of the pie that Aoko made. She never said so, but she was proud of how it turned out. Immensely. Few things could be used to get Kaito's attention but sometimes all of his attention would be wasted on it. Like now, Kaito blabbered on about pie while really, she just wanted him to sit down and help her. It was better than the alternative, which was Kaito practicing his magic tricks on her but she just couldn't win. Kaito's existence made sure of that.

"You're being really deep Kaito. Are you trying to write a poem or something?" she asked, placing her pencil down and turned away from the scribble diseased papers. He winked and continued. "Time is very similar to pie," he said once more. "It passes much too soon and-" he took the final bite of Aoko's apple pie. "There never seems to be enough of it."

Aoko was silent for a second longer, unsure of what to say. Then a small smile formed on her face. "You just want me to make more pie, right?" He laughed. "Was it that obvious?" She rolled her eyes. She knew him forever. "Help me with number five," she answered instead. Kaito grinned cheekily. "You'll make me more then?" he said almost stating it as he laid himself out next to Aoko, touching shoulders, and took out a pencil to study for the upcoming test.

I'm not really sure how I got the idea for this… But I guess I'm pleased with it. Review please!
