with both feet on the ground
They never had the chance to choose which path to take . . .
All the screams – to threats – just the wand pointed to your throat – then all you see is darkness. You then awakened to see a building; crumbling – crumbling down – people darting from place to place – bodies on the ground; fallen to this … monstrous war no one wanted to come to.
You look for your wand – searching your pockets and cloak for it; but no such luck. Then a kid; no older than sixteen – eyes wide; hitting you with a spell – curse more rather; and you fall to the ground – unable to move your body.
You never had the chance to choose – you never had the chance to say no; or the ability to protect your family. Now everyone believed you're on the dark side – even though you never wanted to join the cause of overtaking the world – you're just another pawn – imperiused to fight against people you knew who were trying their best to work for what they believed in. Those thoughts were pushed to the back of your mind – only to be overcome with feigned happiness and ecstasy – leading you to believe that what you were doing was right, and the others were wrong.
You remember now; as you lay on your back – unable to move – that you've never got to say goodbye to your family and friends – they were all probably murdered by Voldemorts' followers, or were as the same as you – fighting on the wrong side; not being able to do anything about that fact.
As the spell wore off – another one hit the small of your back – causing you to double over in pain – and the flash of green light overcame you at last.
You felt nothing as you fell to the ground – the fighting commenced once more – with no one to cry over your body; or to avenge your death. You never deserved the sorrow or empathy – or so the others' thought. The last days of your life were wasted on the wrong cause – just another life gone; forgotten.
Disclaimer: I obviously don't own Harry Potter - or my writing would be much better. :/
Eh . . . Review?
I really shouldn't be writing this when I have other stuff I need to complete . . .
