Christine is a single mom of a young boy named Jeremiah and lives at home with her parents. She just got a new job in Sunsetvally, which is a 30 minute drive from her hometown, Catonsville. She just started working in the office towers, across from the coffee shop.
It is 7:30 am, and she was early for her first day on the job as an office clerk. She stopped at the coffee shop to get some coffee just before starting work. A young man walked, ordered a coffee, then sat next to her. "I never saw you here before", he said. Christine replied, "yeah, I am about to start at my new job at the towers. I got here early and decided to get some coffee. " The young man asked, "Where are you from?" Christine replied, "from Catonsville, about 30 minutes away, I did not even know this place existed." The man then said, " Yeah, it is a small town, so why did you decide to come out here?" Christine said, "well I have been looking for a job for some time now and finally found one out here." The young man then said, "yeah, it is hard finding work these days, especially for me, I never finished college." Christine then said, "I have a bachelor's degree, and it still took me almost a year to find this one. I had a temporary job a few months ago, but of course it was only temporary. " "Wow, that sucks, oh I am Lenkton by the way." "Christine ", Christine replied. They shook hands. Christine then asked, "So, what do you do." Lenkton answered, "I work at the book store down the street." Christine then said, "that is cool, I guess." Lenkton then said, "Yeah, I am trying to save up to go back to college." Christine then said, " Oh, that is cool that you are going back. If you don't mind me asking, why did you drop out the first time?" Lenkton replied, "Well, I don't usually tell everyone, but you seem nice, I have sole custody of my 3 year old, Sam. We live with my mom, but she can only do so much. " Christine then said, "I understand, I have a 5 year old. I was only 19 when I had him. But I was lucky my parents were able to put me through college. I just finished last year. Now it is just getting my foot in the door. I wish you luck in going back." "Thanks", Lenkton responded. It was almost time for both of them to go to work. They decided that they wanted their kids to meet one day. They decided to meet at the local park in Sunsetvally the next Saturday.
That Saturday, Lenktion, Christine, Jeremiah, and Sam met at the park. Despite their age difference, the boys had fun playing together. While the boys were playing, Christine and Lenkton were chatting about themselves and disused interests. It turns out that they both like gardening. "It started when Jeremiah brought home a tomato plant from his daycare for mother's day, he was almost 1 at the time", Christine said. Lenkton replied, " It is quite a useful hobby, I started gardening with my mom when I was young. I got my first gardening set as a birthday present when I was 6." At the end of the afternoon, Christine and Lenktion decided that they should hang out some time, just the two of them. They decided to leave their kids with their parents and go out to the movies and have a dinner.
