A/N: Ok so I havent updated anything in while... I'm working on it, I swear. I wrote this story for my chemistry project... so it's kinda stupid and has to do the process of Fission. Oh... and Ace is Dean's son. bd

"Uncle Sam." Ace called as he and his father walked into the house.

"Sammy, where are you?" Dean's voice bellowed through the quiet house as he yelled for his younger sibling. They stepped further into the house as the sound of footsteps sounded in their ears.

"I heard you guys the first time you yelled." Sam said as he entered the room where Dean and Ace stood. "What's up?"

"You said you would help me with my project." Sam nodded slowly, and motioned to his nephew and brother to follow him into the kitchen.

"what's your project on?"

"Fission."

"Ace, you could have asked me for help. I mean come on I'm your father."

"Dad, what do you know about fission?"

"it's what you see."

"what?!" Sam seemed to almost have cried that out as he and Ace stared at Dean with confusion.

"Vision… it's what you see."

"Dad! I didn't say Vision! I said FISSION! You know as in Nuclear Fission?" Ace nearly screamed as his father just stared at him with that look that he normally gives when he doesn't know something. "The splitting of a nucleus into two or more smaller pieces?"

Sam shook his head as Dean's expression never changed.

"Dad, didn't you ever go to Chemistry in school?"

"He fell asleep in all his classes." Ace scoffed at his father and shook his head.

"Dad, Nuclear chemistry produces energy for nuclear power and it drives explosions of nuclear weapons."

"Dean, have you ever heard of the Little Boy, the Fat Man, or the Implosion Type Bomb? They are all weapons that use fission."

"No."

"Alright Dad, pay attention you may learn something new. Fission occurs when the nucleus of an element captures a neutron, the product then releases two to three more neutrons and the process repeats itself. That's called a chain reaction which is any reaction in which one of the products is a reactant."

"I knew what a chain reaction is son."

"OK, think of it this way. Imagine 200 marbles on a flat circle, all jumbled together, forming a circle. If someone threw a marble at the circle, all the marbles would fly in different directions and groups. That's what happens in nuclear fission. The circle is like the atoms nucleus, the marble that is thrown is like a neutron bullet, only the marbles are acting as protons and neutrons and those arent in a filled circle but in the actual atom are in the shape of a sphere."

"Uncle Sam, did you just compare an atom to marbles."

"yes… even though an atom is more complicated… but you get the point right?" They both looked back to Dean, still noting the confused look on his face. And then it hit Ace.

"Dad… you do know what protons and neutrons are right?" He saw his father scratch his head slowly and think.

"You're hopeless Dean."
