The Call
It started out as a feeling
Which grew into a hope
Which then turned into a quiet thought
Which then turned into a quiet word.
'He's really gone Albus? He's finally gone?' she asked, almost afraid to voice the hope of thousands.
'I believe so, Minerva. I believe so.' And for what seemed the first time in days the twinkle returned.
And the word grew louder and louder
Till it was a battle cry.
Even as they drew the eyes of muggles they couldn't be silenced. For the first time in what seemed forever they were free.
'For Harry Potter!' was the cry sounded before all their glasses were drained.
I'll come back
When you call me
No need to say good-bye.
While others flew to the streets it seemed only one stood transfixed beside his table, a lone glass in his hand.
Even as his tears started Remus couldn't help his grip grow tighter around his glass, he didn't even feel the cuts when the glass finally broke free of his grasp.
Just because everything's changing
Doesn't mean it's never
Been this way before.
Even as the wails pierced the air the world seemed to turn over in its sleep.
For the first time in his life, as he lay outside, no one cared to hear Harry's cries.
All you can do is try to know
Who your friends are
As you head off to the war.
'Sirius Black? Are you sure you trust him James?'
'I trust him with my life, Lily's life, even Harry's life,' he said with a savage snarl on his features. 'God damn it Albus, I would trust Sirius with the fate if our world.'
Pick a star on the dark horizon
And follow the light.
Even as he looked out the window his gaze was drawn to the brightest light in the sky. For some reason even the moon seemed to pale against it.
'Sirius.' And with a shuddering breath Remus drew his curtains across his window.
You'll come back
When it's over
No need to say good-bye.
Remus couldn't believe his eyes when he through himself into the room.
Just as he had when they were young, Sirius had returned against all odds.
And now we're back to the beginning
It's just a feeling and no one knows yet
But just because they can't feel it too
Doesn't mean you have to forget.
Green looked into brown eyes as they drew each other closer. They held on and for nothing would the two would let go.
It didn't seem to matter that this time the colours were reversed.
Let your memories grow stronger and stronger
Til they're before your eyes.
Even as they flew down from the pitch he saw Remus running towards them at a speed that only a werewolf could manage.
And with his last breath James cast the patronus, his last hope that it would reach Lily In time.
You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say good-bye.
As soon as Harry saw them he was running.
His wand lay forgotten as he embraced Hermione and Ron, tears within his eyes.
You'll come back
When they call you
No need to say good-bye.
They came towards him in appearances that only he would of known.
And in what seemed the first time in years Remus gave a shaky laugh before joining them within the light.
