This story is about an alternate history, where after the Belkan War, Yuktobania and Osea have a Cold War. A bit political.

Chapter 1: Belka's End
It was June 20th, 1995. It was cold in Sudentor, like it has always been. Yuktobanian and Osean soldiers were sitting side by side, telling each other stories. Many sat in front of fires, chatting. The former Belkan capital was silent, because of curfews set up by the Allied occupation. The camps became the only source of sound.
It was as if ideological differences never mattered. The Yukes knew that Osea was capitalist, and the Oseans knew that the Yukes were communists. But, when they found their mutual enemy in Belka, all differences were set aside. It was as if there was no ideological tension between the two countries, which had had mishaps in the past.
It was then, at 2230 hours that news came. A voice blared on the loudspeakers of the camp. The soldiers knew that it was their commander. Many soldiers listened ignorantly, believing that it would only be news of either a 'glorious victory' or an 'unavoidable loss'. It'd been like that since the beginning of the war, and they never believed it would stop. They were increasingly bored as most of the victories and losses spoken were small and indecisive. But, it would be other news the commander would speak about.
"Men.", the voice from the loudspeakers said. "We've been fighting since April, and we've lost many men. Some were family, many were friends. But, there deaths weren't in vain, after you here the latest news."
"Must be another 'glorious victory' over the Belkans" said an Osean soldier to his Yuktobanian friend, who chuckled a bit.
"Men. It is with great pleasure I tell you, that at Dinsmark at 1500 hours local time..."
That was the time most soldiers stood up and listened intently. "Dinsmark?" they thought. "That's their capital. Have we won?"
".. that the Belkan government has officially signed a Statement of Surrender to the Allied forces. It is my pleasure to tell you that we've won the war! We've fought and..." The voice died down. There were no technical difficulties with the loudspeakers. The commander's voice died down in the sudden cheering that erupted in the camp. The commander stopped his speech right there. He then sat down with a cheerful grin. He knew that the soldiers didn't need any more official mumbo jumbo. They were happy just hearing that they'd won.
The soldiers jumped and cheered. Some fired celebration shots in the air. Some even cried. But most of all, they were happy. Some started to sing their national anthems.
"Soyuz nerushimy respublik svobodnykh
Splotila naveki velikaya Yuk'!
Da zdravstvuyet sozdanny voley narodov
Yediny, moguchy Yuktoban Soyuz!"
The 'Hymn of the Union of Yuktobanian Republics". That was the Yuktobanian national anthem. Those words were sung by every Yuktobanian soldier, at one with Osea's "Star Spangled Banner" Happiness was seen on every soldier's face. In a brash act of happiness, an Allied tank division, made out of Yuke T-80s and Osean M1s, started to move out of the camp and parade through the streets. This was followed by jeeps, and soldiers happily shooting in the air. The commander did nothing to stop them. He knew they were finally having fun, after months of war.
He thought, "Let them have their fun. It'd be cruel if I stopped them. Besides, if I did try to stop them, they'd probably wouldn't listen anyway." After that, a slight chuckle came out of him.
But, this happiness wouldn't last for long.
