I wrote this was back in December for Christmas time on DeviantART, and I never posted it here, so here it is. Feel free to laugh at the fact that I'm posting this is March. You may also laugh at how cliche this is. I'm starting to wonder why I'm bothering to post it. XD
Disclaimer: I don't own Danny Phantom. Nickelodeon does.
What They Wanted
By Netbug009
Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, except a ghost mouse.
"Hold still!" Danny yelled, swinging the beam shooting out of the Fenton Thermous all over the place, trying to get the creature to go into it.
"How does it take 10 minutes to get Skullker to go away, and yet we are up till Midnight on Christmas Eve trying to catch a mouse?" Sam asked after he finally caught the mouse in the beam, absorbing it into the container. Danny had no comeback. "Oh, forget it. So, what are you guys doing tomorow?"
"I'm going to be crammed into a car with my cousin for 4 hours each way to go to Grandma's for Christmas." Tucker said grimly.
"My family is just going to do the usual." Danny said. "Mom gives Dad some new ghost hunting equiptment and ends up destroying the lab testing it."
"That's why we never come over that day." Tucker said. "I forgot about that."
"Well, later Tuck."Sam said. Tucker had to go the opposite way that Danny and Sam did to get home, so they split up.
It began snowing as Danny and Sam started heading home. Sam smiled, which made Danny smile. Yet at the same time, he looked a bit frightened. This was it. "Um... Sam?"
"Yeah?"
Danny stopped, causing Sam to do the same. "Well... I just wanted you to know that... I..." He felt himself begin to turn red. "Um..."
"Ghost!" Two familiar voices yelled. Jack and Maddie ran past him in ghost hunting gear, chasing what must have been his previous foe's relative.
"Shouldn't you help them?" Sam asked.
Danny sighed. "Yeah. I probably should. Get home, okay? I've got this one." Danny ran to find a place to hide and go ghost.
"Okay. Bye." Sam said, starting the remainder of her trip home. Sam wish she could take back even suggesting he go help. Danny wished he'd just come out with what he was trying to say before his parents had ran by.
Neither was going to get what they really wanted for Christmas.
