Chapter One:
I Should Be Happy

Alice should have been glad that she had found herself back to London.

She should have been thrilled honoured, to have been asked to work with Lord Ascot, who had bought her father's company a few months beforehand.

She should have also been a little more gullible and accept her mother's subtle but yet still obvious demands to get married. Since Alice had refused Hamish, all the other Lords in the surrounding area of London in which they lived had brought it upon themselves to declare themselves romantically to Alice and then propose. Alice was still as pretty and attractive at twenty years old, to pass off wonderful heirs.

She should have been flattered by all the attention she was getting.

There was just one problem – she wasn't happy.

Since the failed engagement party, she had felt herself becoming depressed for some peculiar reason. She found herself not being able to daydream as often and listen to what her mother said to her these days, rather than ignore her (until the subject came to getting married) as she would have done normally.

She would often not all asleep until way past midnight, wondering why she was so miserable.

But there was another person in the universe that did know how she felt.

This problem was that she had forgotten him and his world, and that he missed her as well.

Tarrant Hightopp now spent everyday at the Tea Table, ignoring the others when they told him to do something.

"What do I do without Alice?" he had once muttered to them, his eyes still locked on the gate at the end of the table, where she had twice walked towards him.

He wasn't depressed; he was mad.

Mad without her kind smile lighting up his insides.

Mad without her beauty around him.

Mad without ever getting the chance to tell her everything he knew and what he and she could do whilst in Underland.

Nothing indecent of course, Tarrant shuddered at the thought. He would treat her how she should be treated, with respect and kindness.

"I miss Alice" he often whispered to himself when he was alone, not even bothering to sleep in his own bed in his home. He would stay day and night sitting at the top of the tea table, clasping the teapot he had once held her in to save her life when Stayne had come for her.

He only ever got up once in a while, to use the lavatory and to wash himself. He didn't want his reunion with his Alice to be ruined with him selling like the Bandersnatch!

But since he was so sad, he really didn't know how else to deal with his loss.

What if she never came back again ?

The thought drove him insane.

Hehe, a new fiction, which may be delayed but you, will have to deal with that!
