He saw the way they looked at each other, the way they interacted. It would take a blind fool not to notice there was something between them.
She'd say something to him—probably some dirty innuendo, the little slut—and he'd laugh or smile in response to it, no matter what she said. Why, she could say he was dirty pig that was absolutely useless and he'd probably just smile and nod his head in agreement! It was absurd.
Oh, that wasn't even the worse of it! She asked him to teach her to fight like a mercenary, which was obviously just a cheap way for them to spend more time together, and of course he agreed—he'd do anything to be with her—and if he had stopped looking at her breasts—which were poorly endowed, by the way; you probably couldn't even call them breasts!—for just one moment, he'd see how she already knew how to fight and was just being a stupid whore and trying to keep him all too herself.
Well, Shinon wasn't going to stand for it. He would damned if he was going to let some woman steal him away! So he marched right up to her, the little minx, when no one else was around and told straight out just what she should do. "Keep your hands off Gatrie."
And with that said, he marched right back off, leaving a very confused Astrid staring after him, wondering what in the name of the Goddess had just happened.

ShinonGatrie is awesome. As is Shinon in general. Sometimes I think I'm the only one in fandom who loves him. Oh, and um, I know there's some Astrid bashing in here, but I don't hate Astrid. I actually think she's awesome, but it just seemed rather Shinon like to completely pick apart anyone he didn't like and find all their faults.
