this is my attempt at a fanfic about one tree hill. I haven't written any stories in a long time, so i'm a little rusty. And I promise you i've got lots of juicy ideas that will hopefully get this story going better than this first chapter.

Haley and Lucas had been bestfriends since they were little, they also had friends such as Skills, Fergie, Junk, Mouth, Jimmy and the newest addition Amanda. The River court was the place this group liked to go because Lucas didn't have any run in's with Nathan Scott, also known as his half brother.
Amanda had just moved to Tree Hill and got a job at Karen's Café where she met Haley and Lucas. Haley worked there and Karen was Lucas' mom. She quickly became friends with them and soon became Lucas' first girlfriend.
Lucas' dad who was also Nathan's dad; Dan, had abandoned Karen when she had gotten pregnant. So Lucas grew up with a mother and his uncle Keith, who happened to be Dan's brother. Only in Tree Hill, Right?
It was the first day of grade 9. Lucas picked Amanda up as he usually did. He always drove her to school, Haley lived close by so she always walked. As usual Amanda and Lucas would have their weekly argument over basketball, that morning..
"Luke, you're a great basketball player, I don't get why you don't just try out for the team! Who cares if Nathan is on the team." Amanda complained.
"You don't get it. If I'm on the team, I have to see more of Dan Scott too. Him and his arrogant son." Lucas says angerly.
"I know you don't want to face them. But Luke, This could be your big shot to show Dan Scott that you aren't a loser."
"So, you think of me as a loser?" Luke replied with a sad but angry voice.
"Not what I meant! I meant that Dan looks at Nathan as the star player of the Ravens. He looks at you as if you are nothing. Show him you are more than that." Amanda says, as Lucas parks his car in the school parking lot.
"I really appreciate how much you care. But I wish you wouldn't so much. If I wanted to try out for the ravens I would of." Lucas says as he turns off the car and opens his door to get out.
"Just think about it." Amanda says as she gets out of the car. She slams the door shut and starts walking ahead of Lucas. He runs up behind her and places his arms around her shoulders.
"I'm Sorry, Its just anything Dan Scott loves, I hate." He says.
"I know, I just don't want your talent to go unrecoignized." She says, in a concerned voice.
"Thanks, you're pretty great, you know that." Lucas says
