It was winter. It was cold. And it was the middle of nowhere. That said, it was also in a cabin. A cold cabin. A cold cabin in which tempers were flaring, over said cabin's sole blanket.
"Methinks thou art insane if thy doth believe I deign to share my blanket with thee, foul sorcerer."
"Methinks all you want. I don't give a damn one way or another. You aren't sharing, you're giving."
"Nay, thou can'st take what is rightfully mine!"
"I would hardly call it yours. We stumbled upon this cabin because YOU insisted I go out and finish off Ozzie's last followers. Of course, blundering idiot that you are, you decided to have it out in the middle of a snowstorm, so . . ."
"Hold thy tongue! Your words be as twisted as thine soul! If thou had but finished the job when thy should have, this incident would neigh have happened!"
"MY fault? I would hardly call it my fault. But then, pathetic fool that you are, I don't expect you to realize that, so…"
"Varlet! Thou has besmirched my hon…"
"And you, you slimy amphibian are sorely…"
There were two meaty thwacks, followed by silence. A pause, then…
"My lady, why did'ist thou drop that upon mine head?"
"What the hell was that for?"
Marle rolled here eyes from where she was snuggled up to Crono, the last of the ice dissipating from between her fingers.
"Would you two shut up already? I'm tired, Crono's already asleep, and Lucca's heater hasn't exploded on us yet,, right?" She gestured towards the device in question which sputtered, coughed, and then settled back into a dull hum.
"…"
"…"
"As I was saying, that be the only SAFE source of warmth in this cabin! Give it to me, or face mine wrath!"
"Take it from me if you can, stupid frog…"
