Prologue
The sixties marked the dawning of a new age in Gotham City.
The city which had held its head high for over 150 years was beginning to
fall from grace. The city streets were no longer as safe to walk anymore.
The evening of Friday, October 22, 1963, changed Gotham City and a young
boy's life forever. A famed Gotham doctor and his wife were slain before their
young son's eyes. From that night onward, the city became progressively
more dangerous.
The young boy struggled with his grief and sorrow for a long time.
Although the pain never went away, he did find a strange way to cope. This
heartbroken child became a well-known figure in Gotham City and the rest of
the world. This little boy grew up to become Batman.
