Okay, this is a sad, short little fanfic about Shadow on Christmas Eve. Enjoy!
Shadow was walking down the snowy white road on Christmas Eve. He never did anything special for Christmas. He just treated it like any other day. He had never gotten a present from anyone.... except Maria.
Flashback
"Get up Shadow, it's Christmas!" Maria said.
"I'll get up," Shadow grunted.
"Hurry up! I want to give you your present!" Maria replied.
"What? What present?" Shadow said, looking confused.
"It's Christmas, silly! Everyone gives each other presents." Maria laughed.
"Oh yeah, wait, I'll go and get yours," Shadow said.
He ran down the hallway and came back with a medium sized box. Shadow handed it to her.
"Wait, open yours first!" Maria handed him a very small box with a red bow on top. Shadow ripped open the gift to reveal two gold rings.
"What are these for?" He asked.
"My grandfather helped me create them! Now if you ever get in a fight, you won't lose energy. You'll never have to go back in your capsule again."
Shadow slipped the rings on his wrists. They glowed.
"Thanks Maria." Shadow said, "Now open your present."
Maria ripped open the present to reveal a large globe.
"Thanks, Shadow! Now when we visit Earth, I'll know all of the places!"
End flashback
But Maria never got to visit Earth. Shadow's eyes started to water. He looked down at his rings. They had served him well. The best present he had ever gotten. But his thoughts were broken by singing. He HATED singing. He started to skate down the street, desperate to get away from all those happy people.
"I HATE CHRISTMAS! I HATE G.U.N.! I HATE MY LIFE!" The Ultimate Lifeform yowled.
Why did you have to die, Maria?
"What are you doing out here all alone?" said a voice.
Shadow spun around saw Blaze standing there.
"What do you want?" Shadow muttered.
"To get you inside. Your freezing!"
"No."
"I'm not taking 'no' for an answer" Blaze replied, smiling slightly.
"Fine. But we're going where I want to go." Shadow snapped. He pulled out his green Chaos Emerald and yelled, "Chaos control!"
Blaze and Shadow reappeared on Space Colony Ark. Blaze looked out the huge window that he and Maria used to look out. Meanwhile Shadow raced down to what used to be Maria's room. Boxes lay in heaps in corners. Shadow searched through them until he found it. The globe he had given her more than 50 years ago. He plugged it in and it lit up. Then he pushed the boxes back where they were supposed to go, but just as he did this a small black and white photo that was in one of the boxes caught his eye. It was a picture of him and Maria on Christmas day.
Tears fell from Shadow's red eyes as he said, "Merry Christmas Maria."
Sooooooooooooooo sad!!! I love Shadow, he's my favorite character.
