Prologue

"I demand a resorting! I will not live with these snakes. As the first heir to Griffindor I have a right to be in Griffindor!"

"Draco!" Three voices exclaimed in the silence that had descended on the Great Hall drawing the gazes of everyone to Harry Potter, Susan Bones and Luna Lovegood.

"Don't you dare complain, I will not eat with these hypocrites! Half of them follow Tommy-boy."

"Stop arguing! Mr. Malfoy come up here to be resorted and stop making a spectacle of yourself." The Sorting Hat interrupted. "And you very well know that Mr. Potter is the first heir of Godric Griffindor as the Potters changes their names just a hundred years after Godrics death due to outside dangers and the line is patriarchal though the Malfoy line did inherit the Godrics looks. Now come up and be sorted."

Draco strode up to the hat and slammed it on his head.

"Oh my! GRIFFINDOR!" The Hat exclaimed almost instantly. "Headmaster, may I spend some time on Mr. Malfoys head please?"

"Very well, but I need you back for the next sorting." Dumbledore stated, having just regained his voice and not daring to go against the Hats wishes.

No one made a sound as Draco walked slowly towards the Griffindor table and any place he walked towards was usually filled by someone scooting to the place. He was about to hex someone to let him in when he saw the place that Harry had left for him on the opposite side of Ron Weasley. He saw down to the angered stares of the entire table focusing on Harrys person.

Talk was slow to start up and most people ignored Harry and Draco. "Draco, what were you thinking? We talked about going back to the houses that we were sorted into. I know that you disliked the idea but we might get into trouble now. Why did you decide to be resorted anyway?"

"My father has attempted to make me join Tommy-boys ranks over the summer but I was able to keep him at bay by reminding him of Dumbledores power over the school." Draco explained. "Plus I really have no intention of keeping eyes on my back thoughout the school year. You forget that I remember all the kids and even in first year I had to keep wards around my bed to keep uninvited guests out and to stay alive. In Slytherin it is necessary to know magic before actually going to Hogwarts as they will attack you with no real reason, at least this batch will."

"What Draco, are you not the brave and honorable one?"
