Darkness so vast, and silent, I'd never thought I'd miss the sounds of my old life. That I'd have to bend myself into this "doldrum of
time". I've kept what's left of my sanity, knowing with the last minutes before I was sent here, I saw a vision that I would find an
opening and come back, come back and bring them hell. I'm not wanted anymore by my kind; I betrayed them, who wants a traitor
in the family. I didn't think they'd go as far as imprisoning me, though.
I had something they wanted to hide, and it takes more than what they did to imprison a genius. Genius I am and I'll return the
favor they so graciously bestowed upon me.
Thoughts. That's all I have is my thoughts, thinking, calculating, analyzing, it's a bitter existence, This darkness is so numbing, I can't
even see my own hands, but I know they are there. I know my body is here. But it feels like my conscious is all I have that I can
grasp.
Within the darkness ahead a small flicker of disturbance occurred. My eyes so accustomed to the darkness's presence; I thought
maybe I had imagined the flicker into existence, since the blackness was a perfect screen to imagine all I could onto it. Of course,
my memories always was consumed by the dark and held no real power for what the real thing had, but this time the flicker
expanded inward.
Could this be….it? I thought
As the darkness seemed sucked in by a vacuum; colors, beautiful colors (lol, anything is beautiful when all one saw was black) swirled into the
opening created. They were blurry unfixed shapes, but that was ok, it was the most exciting thing that had happened in eternity. My
body thrumming with anticipation; watched with more satisfaction and surprise the colors took the shape of faintly
familiar…..trees! It was a screen, the edges expanded to form an opening-the one I was waiting for.
Willing myself foreword, I hurtled through the image. Gravity, sounds, lights and colors, it was overwhelmingly wonderful. The
world where he had turned on, was now again before me. I hadn't realized I was air-bending, till I noticed the 3 startled teens
below me, gaping. I laughed; it was a good feeling to feel again.
"I personally thank you for letting me free. Thank your elders for the splendid teachings they've taught you," I stopped to look at
their faces, they were pale and horror-stricken "Or is it tabooed?" He laughed again more insanely, "my name is Shadow, I was and
still am the most viciously feared criminal mind from the Air nomads," He wasted no time and vanished into the air..
