Disclaimer: I do not own Doctor Who, Amy, The Doctor, or anything else of any concern!
So I didn't write anything yesterday, which I apologise for, but here I am writing something today! I don't love this, but it's all right and I hope you like it! Here it is!
Amy Pond jumped out if the TARDIS and immediately shrieked and jumped back in when she heard the sound of gunshots.
"Ah," said The Doctor, coming to the door. "I kind of didn't think about this."
"Where are we?" Amy asked, rather alarmed, as in the distance they could see soldiers.
"World War I," The Doctor said casually. "But I didn't think we'd be on an actual battlefield."
"Well, let's get off it!" Amy exclaimed logically. Personally, she didn't see why they couldn't hand left the moment they'd heard gunshots, a full minute ago.
"But will they hear?" The Doctor said in that way he did, where he was talking to her but not really. "Will they look away from their posts?"
Amy shrugged. "So what? We'll be gone before they can look properly. It's no big deal."
But The Doctor shook his head. "This is different then normal, Amelia Pond," he said seriously. "In war, if one man looks away for a second, the entire result of the war can change. Battles are altered and everything changes. You have to be careful."
"What are we supposed to do then? Stay here forever?" Amy was quite annoyed at this flaw in the TARDIS's generally brilliant traveling landscape.
"Of course not. This is a war, battles are fought in wars, therefore this is just a battle. So we wait it out, then leave when fire has ended."
"For how long just sitting here?" Amy asked, apprehensive. Besides it being uninteresting, she was slightly worried about the damage a soldier would do to a random person on a battlefield if they found the people sitting outside of a police box that could not logically be anywhere near there.
"A while," The Doctor said simply. "But we don't have to sit RIGHT here. We can explore."
Amy smiled as he held out his hand. She took it and he pulled her out of the TARDIS and onto the grass. If it weren't a battlefield, it could really be quite a pleasant place.
"Remember," The Doctor said as they crept along, searching for a place to sit, "Keep absolutely still. We can ruin the world by being too loud."
Amy found this particularly disturbing, but stayed quiet. She wasn't a fan of watching wars, but it was really quite intriguing. The area was so sunny and beautiful, she couldn't imagine people deciding to fight war there.
Curiously, she said, "Is this really World War I? I thought they fought in trenches and stuff like that?"
"Not all the time," The Doctor said. "Not now. But quiet."
So they sat there, watching. When the silence got to be too much, Amy looked at The Doctor and he winked. It was honestly rather magical, sitting in the trees. The magic disappeared quite quickly when gunshots rang out, but in the brief delays, it was nice. Amy smiled. She'd never have imagined this was possible.
Did you like it? I hope so! Please review!
I know it's probably not historically accurate, but I have trouble with that. So I'm sorry! Anyway, yeah... Bye!
