He never looks back. She never looks forward. He never looks outside the present. And, as the grief and the hate ate away at their souls, they made a promise to each other.

crawling

dying

lying

in the dust by the wayside

all alone

on our own…

He never looks back. He doesn't check her pulse. All he does is lay her on the bench and walks away, never to return.

every hope

every dream

every wish

every love

anchored on you

on my own now

i'm on my own now

all alone

She never looks forward. She never tries to fix it. All she does is live in the past, stay in her childhood, never to return.

It hurts

It tightens

It burns

It freezes

To know you've forgotten.

Not getting help

I won't help you

I'm not helping you now.

He never remembers. He never imagines. He just pushes forward, not knowing what comes next, which stairway he will climb until he reaches it.

So run

So hide

So plead

So apologize

Die now – I'll watch you bleed

And I won't cry

Not going to cry

I promise you, I won't cry.

Because you ran away.

A/N: poor Team 7…well…Sasuke and Sakura and Naruto, anyway.
