Rachel Barbra Berry's name was back amongst the bright marques of the Big White Way. Her smiling charming face was on buses and billboards and most importantly Playbills. She was home. After striking out in Hollywood and hiding in Lima, she was a once again one of the few bright stars you could see nightly in Manhattan.
Rachel made it backstage to her dressing room after an exhilarating standing ovation at curtain call. She rushed to work on removing her stage costume and makeup so she could join her family, friends, and cast mates on celebrating a great opening night. She noticed all the wonderful bouquets of flowers that had been delivered during the second act, containing the standard roses, lilies, tulips. But one larger bouquet caught Rachel's eye. She approached it and found that the brightly colored flowers were painted. "Strange." She continued to read the card:
""But, I nearly forgot, you must close your eyes otherwise you won't see anything" -LC Congratulations on making it back to your land of wonder and make believe. I am so proud of you, Rachel. I'm so glad you never stopped walking to your goal. I know you have plans for this tonight (as you should), but WE have plans tomorrow. Meet me at our place tomorrow at 3. Congratulations again, superstar. I'll see you tomorrow. XX "Who in the world am I? Ah, that's the great puzzle.""
Rachel's megawatt grin only continued to grow through reading the note. She looked more closely at the neatly scribbled handwriting sprawling across the card and couldn't help but chuckle at juxtaposition of the sloppy script with the wonderfully hand painted, once white, flowers. Rachel was completely absorbed in the wonder of her admirer's gift that she was startled by the knock at her door. She opened the door to find one of her cast mates begging her to hurry up so they could get the door reception line and then the party close-by in Midtown. Rachel shut the door, gave the beautiful bouquet one more moment of her time before committing to her post show routine, in an efficient but rushed manner.
Rachel made it out of her dressing room and out the backstage door to see excited fans waiting for autographs and pictures. Rachel made sure to spend time greeting and thanking her fans. She mentally thanked her short stature again for her flattering selfie angle after taking too many pictures to count. After the crowd left, Rachel grabbed a taxi with one of her co-stars to go the few blocks over out of the theatre district to a Midtown club that would be hosting the cast party.
Rachel spent the night celebrating and drinking with her costars, stage hands, fathers, Kurt, Blaine, and surprisingly Santana and Brittany showed up as well.
