It was a normal and peaceful night at Gotham City. Crimeless. Quiet.
Or is it?
The Riddler sat contently in his lair, listening to the radio, thinking of a new way to disrupt the peace and order maintained in Gotham by a mysterious masked man. The Batman, the Riddler thought, must have thought that we target banks and shops of the sort.
As if the heavens heard his prayers, the idea went into his mind as the news from the radio flashed in. "..and to welcome the coming of the duke, Henrich von Karma, and his daughter, Valerianna von Karma, the mayor of Gotham planned a welcoming ball to the royal guests.." the reporter said. "That's it!" the Riddler exclaimed. "..and to top it all, they will cover the public viewing ceremony of the world famous Eternal Darkness, a diamond 12 inches in diameter and in dark blue and black. A world class beauty treasured by generations.." and the reporter continued.
Won't the black knight be surprised, the Riddler thought, grinning evilly. Or the EX-black knight.
