This is how I think Noah joined the Galactic Guardians. No flames! R and R!

Betty glanced fearfully at her commander, whose eyes slid to her for just a moment before he blew some bubbles out of his cornpipe. She relaxed slightly; he looked just as disapproving as she felt.

"I'm sorry Noah. I cannot allow you to join the Galactic Guardians."

Sparky looked put out from what Betty could see out of the corner of her eye, but he'd always been one to cheer the underdog, as pathetic as this underdog was. X-5 seemed pretty neutral about the conversation taking place around him, and instead programmed quadrants into the mainframe of the spaceship.

"But why!?" Noah cried "Betty is one! And I want to be able to protect the universe to! If you think I'm just doing this to hand out with my friend you're wrong! I'm a huge space buff! Maybe even bigger than Betty herself!"

Sparky snorted from the pilot's seat "yeah right! No one loves space more than the chief, not even the aliens!"

Noah (who'd yet to learn her position on the ship) looked confused "chief?" Betty sighed softly; today was not her day.

"Yes, chief." She finally admitted "I run this ship, unless Admiral Degill is on board, like now."

She pointedly glanced at him. Another eye contact. You're the boss. Make him see it isn't worth it.

"You see, being a Galactic Guardian is a full time job" Degill started "and it must be suspicious enough that Betty has to stop whatever she's doing all the time and run out. If two people started doing, it may look even more suspicious."

Noah shook his head determinedly "then maybe I could get a part time job."

Betty couldn't help but snort "I hate to break this to you Noah, but bad guys don't work on a time clock."

"Exactly!" Degill agreed wholeheartedly "a part time job is out of the question. Besides, there is a lot you must learn and keep secret if you actually became a guardian. It wouldn't be an easy adjustment for you."

Noah glanced at Betty "but Betty isn't a good lair…."

Degill laughed "that I know. It's one of the many reasons she is one of my most trusted confidents. But Galactic Guardians are to lie about certain things. No matter. No means no."

Betty glared, Degill gulped. It was times like this he was extremely happy to be the commanding officer. He nervously blew bubbles out of his cornpipe. If the base hadn't just been destroyed, he'd expect Betty to ask him along for a training session with spindly tam. And he always came back bruised while Betty would be triumphant. She had a different form of revenge than most.

Though that didn't mean it wasn't fun. Hanging around his under-officer was a lot of fun, even if most of what they said didn't communicate well in the others language and customs; it was never boring when she was around him.

"I could learn!" Noah argued "I mean, Betty could teach me!"

Betty quickly declined "Spindly tam would teach you. If he's alive that is…" her undertone of sadness wasn't missed by her universal companions, who all promised to comfort her as soon as the mission was done.

"Besides" she continued "you're not Galactic Guardian material."

"I'm definitely guardian material!" he argued further "give me a chance, Degill. Please!?"

Degill looked at Betty. One last eye contact. I've tried my best.

"Fine…" he sighed "welcome to the Galactic Guardians, Cadet Noah."

This is how I think Noah became a part of the Galactic Guardians. I know there kinda O.C, sorry. Degill and Betty were really close, I know, because they work together a lot, so I thought they could catch onto each other's thoughts like that.
