Dear Sam,

Have you ever thought about the things that would happen without friends? I have. Without friends, my world would be black. Not Goth black, but blacker. I wouldn't have anything to live for. I would be the loser in school. I wouldn't have my ghost powers. I wouldn't have ever realized…who I love.

Sam Manson.

You and Tucker have always been there. No matter what I did to make you mad, or make you want to kill me. You were always there. I probably would have been killed in my first battle without you. I'd have never realized my mistakes or my actions. I would have messed up my life pretty badly without you. And I just now realized…

I love you…Sam.

I need you to keep me going. I can't live without you. But I just…I couldn't tell you this in person…because, you might not feel the same. So I wrote it.

I Love You.

Love,

Danny Fenton

Sam had just finished reading the note for the fifteenth time in the last half hour. The one…the one Danny had given to her.

"He loves me," she muttered. Tears were running down her cheeks, but she didn't care, they had been doing that all day, "He loves me and I love him back."

She had received the note the night before, on her window sill. She didn't know her love was in danger of dying when she read it that night. She didn't realize he needed her.

"You needed me…and…I wasn't there," the tears slid down her cheeks and hit the note she held in her trembling hands.

The ghost he had been fighting was unknown and was still unknown to this day. But whoever he was… he was strong, stronger than Danny, but not strong enough for the crime fighting trio. That is… if Sam and Tucker were there. Yet, they weren't. It was just him, alone, in the middle of the night.

"If I had gotten there five minutes earlier, five bloody minutes…I could have helped you. I could have…" Sam broke down and sobbed into her pillow, "Why? I should have been there. I should have been there!"

When she had finally heard the ruckus outside she ran out…but only to meet a sight she didn't want to see. Her friend…her love…,was lying on the ground bloody and unconscious. He needed help. He couldn't make it on his own. She picked him up and brought him inside, bandaged him as best she could and called 911.

"This is all my fault. Why did I read the note before I looked out the window? I could have been there. I would've helped him."

Now Danny was in the hospital, on life support. He hadn't awaked up since the attack and the doctors weren't sure if he would make it. His family was extremely worried about him and stayed at the hospital with him 24/7, but that won't help his condition.

"I love you Danny. Please don't leave me," Sam whispered before she fell asleep.

She just barely heard the familiar voice say, "I won't."
