He had a wife.
It wasn't right.
He was miserable with his sorrowful life.
He left his home and went to work.
That's where he found her.
She was beautiful and smart.
She restarted his heart.
She felt the tension,
And the attraction she wouldn't even mention.
He was married, she thought.
What if they got caught?
He went on with his life
With his unbearable wife.
The beautiful girl was still there,
But he refused to let himself stare.
He was loyal to his family,
No matter what his heart said.
Between a rock and a hard place
Was the saying that came to his head.
He would have to admire her from afar,
This beautiful that shone like a star.
He would never be happy,
But at least he pleased God.
He would remember that wherever he trod.
He would not slip up.
He would not fail.
He would stay on the strait and narrow,
and would not stray from the trail.
He knows he did the right thing.
She wouldn't have been happy
And neither would he.
So, whenever she looks at him with eyes so bright,
Why does his heart sing
Like an owl in the night?
