A/N: So I have noticed I have been gone for a long while now and I apologize. It's been a few hectic years since I have had a chance to really sit down and do my projects I have been intending to do, but now, I'm back on progressing them. This is just a one-shot I wrote for one of my classes a long while ago and I never thought of putting it up here. Dang, I'm so slow. But here it is.

Summary: After ten grueling years, two siblings are finally reunited before tragedy strikes on the younger one. But not all hope and life is gone... because love is infinite.

Lost and Found...

Sometimes, time cannot heal all wounds but love...

Two years have passed since that day she died in his arms, smiling through her own puddle of blood, the sirens sounding distant in his ears. He finally found his little sister after ten long years. Now she was gone again and this time, she wasn't coming back. He closed his eyes, the pain and memories still fresh in his mind. He looked down at the crude block of stone, reading the epiphany on them:

Ayame Uogani
Lost and Found

Dark red and soft peach colored roses were laid across the grassy grave. He sat down where he was standing and continued to stare at the deeply etched words.

You lived without me once. I know you can survive without me again. Love is infinite, Aki...

Her last words rang loud and clear through his head before the life in her eyes were gone. An empty shell lay in his grasp. The only reason he continued to fight and stay alive was because he knew she was somewhere out there and they could be a family again, despite how broken they were. And no matter how long they have been separated, he still felt the bond both of them shared. Now, he lost the only person he never thought he would be able to see again.

"Aki? Come on. It's been hours since you've been up here. Let's go home."

He finally shifted his eyes to see his wife beside him, a hand on his shoulder. During his futile search for his lost sister, he had a chance meeting with the woman beside him, now, his beloved.

"Alright."

He moved his stiff joints with some difficulty, but before he disappeared down the sloping hill, he cast a final glance behind him. The petals on the roses stirred with the cold wind as it swept across them.

...Love is infinite, Aki...

A small smile formed on his lips as his sister's voice whispered with the wind. His only living family was now dead, but he can continue living with his newfound love. He entwined his cold fingers with her warm hand and slowly descended down the road.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

She smiled warmly and drew herself closer to him.

A small twinkle in the dark sky grew brighter and the petals on the roses drifted with the wind.

A/N: Do you still believe something will always be reborn, no matter how far and how terrible the world seems to consume everything?

I guess this is more perplexing and a bit deep stuff I've gotten myself into... haha. Please read and review, or critique, whichever is more suitable to your taste.
