Disclaimer – I own nothing of RENT or the song Do You Want to Build a Snowman. They belong to their respected owners. 'Nuff said.
Italics are song lyrics and thoughts.
A/N: I got this idea while listening to DYWTBAS earlier today. Also, Maureen has ice powers like Elsa.

Maureen and Mimi were as close as two sisters could be – ask anyone in the kingdom of Arindelle. Maureen was older by four years and loved her younger sister and was very protective of her.
One day, Maureen and Mimi were playing when Maureen accidently hit Mimi in the head with her ice powers. Four-year-old Mimi was stunned and confused, but didn't stop loving Maureen.
A year later, Mimi knocked on Maureen's bedroom door.
"Maureen?
Do you want to build a snowman?
Come on, let's go and play!
I never see you anymore
Come out the door
It's like you've gone away
We used to be best buddies
And now we're not.
I wish you would tell me why!
Do you want to build a snowman?
It doesn't have to be a snowman!" Mimi sang to Maureen's door.
"Go away Mimi!" Maureen's voice came from the other side.
"Okay bye." Mimi sighed and skipped off.
Four years later:
Mimi laughed and ran up to Maureen's door.
"Do you want to build a snowman?
Or ride our bike around the halls
I think some company is overdue
I've started talking to
The pictures on the walls – hang in there Joan!
It gets a little lonely
All these empty rooms
Just watching the hours tick by." Mimi sang, laying on her back, watching the hands on the grandfather clock.
Meanwhile, in Maureen's room, Maureen and her father – the King – were working together.
"I'm scared! It's getting stronger!" Maureen said, her voice frightened.
"Fear will only make it worse, calm down." The king soothed.
"I'm just frightened." Maureen said.
The king hugged her and left the room.
When Maureen was 19 and Mimi was 15, their parents went on a journey by boat.
The girls learned of their parents' boat capsizing in a storm, leaving no survivors.
Mimi watched the servants place a black veil over the king and queen's portrait and went to her mother and father's funerals.
Mimi wandered the halls after the funeral and went to Maureen's room and knocked.
"Maureen?
Please I know you're in there
People are asking where you've been
They say 'have courage' and I'm trying to
I'm right out here for you
Just let me in
We only have each other
It's just you and me
What are we gonna do?
Do you want to build a snowman?" Mimi sang, pain in her voice.
Mimi sat on one side of Maureen's door and Maureen was on the other side, snow covering every inch of Maureen's bedroom.
5 years later, Maureen was crowned queen, while Mimi was crowned princess. The girls had their ups and downs, but they mostly got along.
