...don't... ask.

Make of it what you will... just know that I was very bored...

Anatidaephobia

"Hey, Blue, I-"

The room was dark, the curtains drawn shut with only faint sunlight gleaming through them. Green blinked and took a few steps inside, a little bemused by the state of the room. It was neat as always, but it wasn't like Blue to keep his curtains shut... actually, it wasn't really like him to stay cooped up in his room for too long at all. He squinted, and could barely make out a lump beneath the bedcovers.

"Blue?"

"Make it stop, Green..." The voice that replied was muffled.

Green blinked, somewhat confused now. "Make what stop?"

"..."

Green took another step forward. "Blue?"

"Oh god, it's everywhere, it won't stop following me..."

"Uh... Blue?"

"It's just following me and it won't stop... it keeps staring at me with those... eyes..."

"Blue..."

"It's a demon, I swear, it has to be, no one else ever sees it..."

"Blue!" Green interrupted. "What are you talking about?"

"You haven't seen it?" The blankets seemed to shudder. "It's everywhere, it never moves, it just stands there, the end of the world is freaking written in its eyes and... I can't make it stop following me, even when I think I'm safe it's always there..."

Green was beginning to feel very weirded out by this point, and though he still had a lot of questions left unanswered, he was beginning to think maybe all the candy Blue had eaten last night had gotten to him. "Um... okay... just come out later, okay? Can't have you stay in your room all day, right?"

There was no reply. Green decided to just leave the blue-clad warrior be, and slowly exited the room, closing the door behind him. He frowned in confusion as it clicked shut- what could be bothering him that much?

He decided not to worry about it unless Blue didn't come out to eat- surely he wouldn't miss a meal, right?- and sighed, deciding to go talk to Red. It wasn't like Blue had some major problem they didn't know about... right? He'd just had a nightmare or something and wasn't about to tell anyone.

...Right?

Green had gone... he was alone in his room now, beneath the covers, perfectly safe. It wasn't going to get him here, right? It couldn't get inside his room. And if it did he'd hack it to pieces, because then he'd know it was a demon, it had to be.

But for now, he tried not to move too much, because if he did, it might know he was here, dear god it might realize he was here and it would never stop watching him. He just had to stay completely still... pretend he wasn't in his room... maybe it had left... maybe it wasn't going to bother him anymore...

It had bothered him for days now, relentlessly following him everywhere, stalking him no matter where he went. No one else seemed to see the monster, but it had caused him constant paranoia, to the point that he couldn't even walk in his own house without having to look over his shoulder once in a while. And with good reason- because it was freaking everywhere.

Maybe it was gone, though. Maybe it had finally left him alone... perhaps now he could be free from the nightmare of a couple weeks he'd been suffering through. Blue cautiously rose from his mattress and pulled the covers off from over his head. He glanced over to his window- it was the moment of truth. Slowly he leaned over, and ever so carefully, he took the edge of the curtain and moved it just enough for him to see out of.

The duck was still there.

Blue let out a yell and roughly yanked the curtain shut again, scrambling to curl up beneath the covers again so that it couldn't see him.

It was watching him... always watching...

Anatidaephobia- the fear that somewhere, somehow, a duck is watching you.
