The Planet's Decision
The ground shook violently beneath Cloud's feet as Sephiroth's body lay
motionless on the ground. The threat of Sephiroth was finally over. Cloud
and the rest of the team were barely able to stand up but everyone was in a
rush to get out of the crater. Cloud was going as fast as he could but he was
unable to move fast enough as the ground gave away beneath him and he
plunged into the life stream. The rest of Avalanche made it safely out of the
crater and everyone was staring down at the life stream to see if Cloud would
emerge.
When Cloud regained consciences he found himself in the life stream and
he watched as souls of the dead traveled to their new bodies. Cloud was just
about to rise out of the life stream when a dark figure appeared before him.
"You may have managed to defeat me Cloud but if I die I am taking you
with me." Sephiroth said as his figure came into Cloud's view.
"I will settle this once and for all Sephiroth. This time, you won't come
back." Cloud said while raising his sword.
With their threats exchanged, the final battle began between the two. The
fight was dead even, each exchanged cut for cut and block for block until
Cloud was ready to use his ultimate attack. With a scream of pure rage Cloud
charged toward Sephiroth.
"OMNISLASH!!!!!!" Cloud screams as he uses super speed and beautiful
sword finesse to completely slice Sephiroth's body into lots of pieces.
Cloud is about to leave the life stream when he hears the last words of
Sephiroth.
"Meteor...will finish...what me and...my mother have...started", and with
those last words, Sephiroth finally was gone for good.
Cloud emerged from the life stream to everyone's relief. Everyone got onto
the Highwind and escaped from the Crater just in time to see if Holy would
be able to counter Meteor's immense power. Tifa and Cloud looked at each
other and then hugged seconds before Holy collided with Meteor.
All around the world people watched as the two enormous balls of power
flew toward each other. Then, in a blinding flash of light, Holy and Meteor
collided. At first, neither ball was advancing on the other. Then, a long stream
of souls emerged from the crater and helped Holy push Meteor away. It was
the life stream! But before the life stream and Holy were able to push Meteor
away from the planet, Meteor exploded. This huge explosion caused great
damage to the Earth but did not destroy it.
Now it was the planet's turn to decide its own fate. Would it let living
creatures roam its scarred surface? The planet thought about what would
happen if it allowed humans to live on it again. The planet decided that it
would be best for humans to be banished from Earth but for all other
creatures to remain.
5oo years later
The planet created creatures that used to be extinct, mainly because of
mankind. This also meant that more of Red XIII's race were created. Red
XIII mated with a female of his race and now has kids. Occasionally he visits
the now vine-covered structure where many of his human friends used to live.
