Disclaimer: I do not own any part the the Star Wars franchise, even though I wish I was that awesome.
The band of rebels have been looking for Captain Solo for months, everyone is weary, but determined to get him back. Mostly everyone is already in the lair of the Hutt, but the legendary Luke Skywalker is not. Riding towards it though, he is, and fast. His mind is roaming, thoughts going everywhere, but enough of this narrator junk, on to the story...
Ah, the wind through my clean hair felt absolutely fantastic. Going through a refresher felt so good! Trying to find Han distracted me from a good long shower. Yet, the sand on Tatooine is quickly getting everywhere, in my clothes, shoes, even the droids were complaining before they left. The speeder rumbled underneath the rippling sand reminds me of the simple days when I was known just as "Wormie." The grit I feel underneath my hands of the speeder feels familiar, like the old days. The confrontation with Jabba the Hutt is approaching, but it feels good to just relax for a moment. Memories of flying with Biggs float into mind, of all the fun we had.. him leaving me… finding me… losing him...Stop! I can't think about that, he would want me to live the life he died saving. Not thinking about all of those lost in the battle against the Empire, but about the happiness everyone is going to have when we're free. Oh Biggs, you are truly missed! If only you could see me now, a Jedi, a hero of the Rebellion, and still lost. Everything is going wrong with this mission, but honestly, my whole life. I tried to do good by training with Master Yoda, but I left, leaving to save my friends, and it ended up horribly. I had to be saved by them! On top of all that, I lose my hand to Darth Vader, and Han to Boba Fett! Ugh! If I keep thinking like this I'll go mad! Focus Luke. You have a mission. Save Leia, and get everyone out in one piece. I am a Jedi, I am strong, I can do this.
As the Palace gets just in the horizon, I get off the speeder and conceal it behind a small rock formation. After it is well concealed, I hop down, and start walking towards the palace. Pushing down my fears, I slip on a mask of collected Jedi patience. I draw upon the Force to help me on this mission.
As the hulking metal door of the place is not even a meter within me I silently wish that everything will be as it once was, that I will be surrounded by all of my friends, and we fight the Galactic Empire together. Having that little pep talk build up my courage, I now know I will do this.
