Disclaimer: I don't own teen titans, any of the characters used in this story, or even ancient Greece. Oh how I want them though.
Warning: This is not the story, it's not even an introduction, its just background information so the actual fic is easier understood. Read of your own volition, or put it off until I enter the first installment of the actual work.
But first, background information, and plot summary the story will come later. I write slowly, and slovenly, calling for much editing before release.
Setting: The setting of this particular piece of fiction is set in Ancient Greece. The names are there to reflect such, and you will find them vastly different [though I will try to minimize such] from the original character titles [civilian or otherwise]. All this is purely to authenticate the story as vividly as possible [well, as much as a work of fiction CAN be authenticated]. If you find anything wrong with my historical contexts, private message me and let me know, I was far too lazy to actually look all this up, and, pathetic as this sounds, all information [historic at least] is derived from the blurred memory I retain from my 9th grade world history class [most of which I slept through].
Characters: Because the characters will have different titles, I want to give you a list of the characters and their new names, if not only for confusion avoidance.
Kori Anders [Starfire] – Athena Korrine Andelia
Roy Harper [Speedy] – Ares Romelian Andelia
Richard Grayson [Robin/Nightwing] – Raphael Octavian
Bruce Wayne [Batman] – Basilius Octavian
Rachel Roth [Raven] – Rachala Rasputo
Victor Stone [Cyborg] – Valiar Scandali
Barbara Gordan [Batgirl] – Boratrix Gardenia
As far as I've planned, those are the only characters I'm using in this fic, and some of them might even be dead before the story even begins, depends on how I'm feeling.
We'll see. And since all this is largely improvisational, with only the general plot planned, I might add new characters part way through so feel free to come back to this page from time to time to see if my fickleness as struck again and made reading infinitely more difficult. Though the only reason you'll need to check is to see if the new character represents a hero you already know, as from time to time the names will not adequately coordinate.

Some of my characters will be….out of character. For example, Raven won't be a complete downer, but I'll try to retain some of her solemn persona. They'll deviate, obviously, since this is an AU story, but I'll try to keep them as legitimate as possible while still keeping my story's components cohesive to the work as a whole. You'll have to forgive me, or you know, flame me and swear off all my work forever and ever.
I'm going to need to make Barbara a complete bitch. Just a heads up to all you bat girl fans out there. I actually adore batgirl [not as much a Starfire, but still] but I need an antagonist for the plot to work and she's the designated victim, just because of her history with Robin in the actual series. And he's going to be with Starfire in the end, obviously. Don't take it personally, the fact that she eventually goes ape shit I mean, blame jealousy, and you know….me. But mostly blame the jealousy. Wouldn't you be jealous? I'd be jealous. I sympathize with you Barbara, I really do, and I'm sorry.
Lastly, I want to apologize to whoever read this the entire way through. I wanted to get this up and over with before I started, and I know you opened this whole thing up because you were expecting one hell of a read. And instead you got this little…history and background lesson. I implore you to stick around anyhow! I promise to make it worth your while.
