So, after a few years I decided to edit this story. Because when I was writing this down, I came to a dead end. I also fixed the errors since I started this story when I was still in high school, and now I already graduated from college. Haha. Enjoy!

Chapter 1 - Faith

… … … … … … … … … … …

"I'm sorry…this is the last time, Sasuke."

He could only stand there as he watched from the corner of his eyes as the lifeless body of his brother fall unto the dirty and rain soaked ground.

"The last time…" He muttered to himself before collapsing unto the ground too.

Kagome screamed and gasped for air as she suddenly jolted up from her bed in cold swear. She touched her forehead at noticed at how much she was sweating. And the she touched her chest, as she felt a strange pulse that was not the beating of her heart. The last time that she has felt this way was when the Shikon jewel appeared.

Getting up from her bed, she stood by her window and noticed that it was already morning.

It was time for her to start her day again.

Just like any other day.

It would be like this over and over again until she dies.

It has been years since she was transported into this strange world full of ninja, and civilians that go about the natural cycle of hate.

Looking at the rising sun, she thought that despite having its differences, and the Feudal Era have one thing in common and that is hate.

The people in this ninja world and the Feudal Era keeps on moving because of hate.

Smiling bitterly, she wonders how her friends are doing now. And how are they doing without her.

Sango, Miroku, Shippou and Inuyasha...

"Inuyasha," she muttered as her fists clenched.

Adjusting to this world was no easy feat for Kagome since she has no chakra, unlike most ninja in this world. To make up for that, she has learned to rely on her archery and survival skills to make it through the day. But sometimes, when the situation calls for it she also uses her spiritual powers when there is no one around. She doesn't want to cause any fuss when someone sees it.

To sustain herself, she has used her experience and knowledge on medicinal herbs by working in a small local hospital in a small village near the border of Iwagakure and Takigakure. Since it was near the border and far from the main Hidden Villages, it is more peaceful.

All throughout her years, of living all alone in her small house near the hospital has helped her mature in thoughts and physically.

She was no longer that fifteen year old girl who used to go around the Feudal Era in her white blouse and green shirt. She has discarded those for something more suiting for this type of life. Instead she adorned herself with a tight fitting white haori unlike the baggy one she used to wear back in the Feudal Era, black ninja shorts and a red belt that she ties on her waist.

Her hair was a little longer than before, she has gotten taller and has curves in the right places.

Holding her hand up her chin, she glanced outside as she removed her glasses.

Things were slow in the hospital today, there were little patients and less emergencies today.

"Not much action today," she said to herself as she sighed, and picked up one of her pens but unfortunately it rolled off her desk.

She stood up and picked it up on the floor.

Thump.

She stopped as her breath hitched in her throat as she felt that familiar feeling in her chest just like this morning.

Thump.

She clutched her chest as it happened again.

"…last time, Sasuke."

Kagome gasped for her as she felt her breathing becoming shallow.

She couldn't breathe.

"…last time…"

Her vision was blurring.

Her head felt heavy.

Her chest feels tight.

Suddenly she felt a light tap on her should and her head instantly snapped at the source. "Kagome-san, are you ok?"

Instead of reacting to Akane's question, Kagome tried to breathe again and was surprised to see that it was normal again.

"You look ill Kagome-san, is something the matter?"

It took a few seconds before Kagome could answer.

"N-no, I'm well Akane-san. I'm just tired maybe." Kagome trailed off.

Akane pondered for a moment and look at Kagome's dishevelled look. "Yes, I don't want to offend you but if I may, I would suggest that you take the rest of the day off. You've been working too hard Kagome-san."

"I guess I am Akane-san, I guess I am." Kagome agreed as she held her chest once more and silently wondered who this Sasuke is.

Instead of going home, Kagome opted to roam around outside of the village and into the fields to clear her head. It's been a while since she has allowed herself to relax even for just a little bit.

She watched curiously as the village folk are toiling in their rice fields, the children playing around and the farmers' wives chatting amongst themselves. This isn't the first village that she's been to, because when she first arrived in this world she found herself in a place called Mountain's Graveyard which is located at the northern part of Otogakure. Comparing that village and this small one, it is better to live in this one simply because there are less shinobi living in here which resulted in its peaceful ambiance.

But as faith would have it, she was not lucky today as rain started to pour hard and she forgot her umbrella at home. So she ran deep into the forest looking for some shade.

Fortunately, she found an old abandoned shrine in the deep part of the forest.

"It looks like the rain isn't stopping anytime soon," Kagome sighed.

Running her hand through her wet clothes, she debated of whether she should go inside the shrine and start a small fire or just stay in here to wait for the rain to stop.

She shivered as the wind blew, making her look back into the shrine door.

Starting hard and long at it wasn't going to make her situation better so she decided to go into the small shrine and look for some wood to use as fire.

Judging by the amount of web cobs around the place and by the looks of it, she would have guessed that this place was abandoned just recently. After the rain stops, she must remember to ask Akane if she knows anything about this shrine.

Of course, she doesn't want to disrespect the shrine even if it was abandoned, Kagome looked around to look for scraps to use instead. It was quite dark inside the shrine so she was careful on her steps, and the squeaking of the wooden floor only made her tread into the shrine carefully.

She stopped as she heard her sandals step on something wet.

A puddle perhaps, from the leaking ceiling.

But Kagome looked up and saw that despite the current state of the shrine, there was no leak.

"Strange…" she mussed as she leaned her head to the side to inspect it again.

Curious, she leaned down and looked at the puddle she stepped on. Colour drained from her face when she realized what it was and how impossible it would be if she was wrong about this but it's not a puddle of water from a leaking ceiling.

"It's blood,"

Horror was not her favourite movie genre during her younger years at her own world, so she could have sworn she heard a rustle on her right.

Her heart was beating loudly on her chest as she put everything together and closed her eyes. Silently praying that it was all in her mind right now.

But her prayers were not answered as she felt a cold hand grab her ankles tightly, and all she could do was scream.

… … … … … … … … … … … … …

So, how was it guys? I'm still trying to edit the other chapters to make it exciting. Don't forget to review and give me your insights. Thank you!
