Dick had been having a bad day and nobody could cheer him up. Well, almost nobody. Today a baby blue eyed cat followed him home. It had the brightest white fur he had ever seen and it had a chocolate brown spot in the shape of a crown on it's back left leg. He tried to find the owner to no avail.
So, he decided to keep her. He hid her from Bruce because he was worried he would take his friend away. Dick had other friends of coarse, human friends , but none of them were as close to him as his new cat.
He named her Jewels.
When he went out as Robin or went to school he told her to stay on the bed to protect his room and to hide if anyone came in and she did. But as he got older she got wiser. Jewels watched him practice, and comforted him when he was sad. She knew him better than anybody now and had learned how to be a bat. If Jewels wasn't her name, she would most likely to be named shadow.
When dick moved to Blüdhaven , Jewels came with him. He finally found out she was following him on his patrols there. Dick tried to get her to stop following but he failed. She was too worried. Even at Mount Justice and the Watchtower she followed in the shadows. Nobody but Dick knew where she was. He still wants to know how she gets to the Watchtower though.
Once she was almost caught. So Dick later in his apartment scolded her. She quietly listened. They had grown a bond so strong that they knew what the other was thinking, where they were, and even what they were feeling.
M'gann asked about the other presence in his mind once and he told her it was a friend. She was still curious but didn't voice it. She held it in the back of her mind. For now...
