Isabella Marie Swan. Im Isabella Marie Swan. Im a fifteen year old sophmore at Forks high. My mother and father died in a plane crash. My father was going to Jacksonville with my mother to get some "stuff". It was near my fourteenth birthday. It was probably the presents my mother forgot. She had to go back before my birthday because Phil got hurt. The court decided that Phil could care for me and he agreed. But they were being evicted from their house in Jacksonville and he lost his job. So he came to Forks to live in my fathers house. I was preparing to walk through the door. It is eleven pm at night. I opened the door with my head hung down and closed it behind me. But there was Phil, with his hand already raised. But he caught site of my scratched eyebrow and cut swollen lip. He smirked than said, "I see Kyle took care of you. Didn't he?" I nodded. Phil doesn't like when I don't say anything or respond. Phil isn't the man i thought he was. He's not the man my mother knew. He stared at me with his short beard and buzz cut. He'd gained weight. I stared back and waited to be dismissed. "Get to bed you ungrateful cow." He slurred drunkingly. If he got really drunk he'd probably be trying to get into my room tonight. He'd taken the lock off my door. I sprinted up the stairs and quickly took a shower. I heard Phil snoring downstairs when I tip toed to my room. That made me thankful. I put my makeshift lock against the door and laid down. I immediately fell into a sleep.

I awoke almost breathless. I held back the scream but i began sobbing. I looked for my insomnia medicine in the bathroom as quietly as I could. Phil always stole them. I found them and took three. I know I was only supposed to take one, but i didnt want any nightmares. Tomorrow there was school and i need the sleep. Besides i found out that sleep can help injuries heal faster. First day of school tomorrow. I managed to keep my secret for a while. But how long more?
