The quarter moon was high in the air, a gray tabby she-cat stuck her head outside of her lonely den. Everyone in the clan seemed to be sleeping which gave her a reason to smile softly. Stepping fully out in the clearing the dim light caught a small glimpse of her blue-green eyes, taking her time to move carefully to avoid making sounds; she made her way to the secret exit in camp.
Slipping through the small tunnel, she began bounding towards the creek on the far side of clan territory. I hope Cloverwind had no trouble as well.
She thought to herself, already feeling a tad tired from healing the small outbreak of white-cough earlier and now the added pressure of running. She was, however, grateful the running seemed to warm her up which was a welcome change from the cold air that mid leaf-fall brought.
The she-cat known as Cloverwind was sitting nervously by the creek, she was shifting her creamy paws as the cold wind blew against her brown tabby fur. She was slightly thankful her fur was thick but she would rather be lying with a certain cat for warmth.
What's taking so long? Did Doveflame get caught?...Or did she have second thoughts? She thought with a sad feeling building inside. Was it possible as Doveflame is a medicine cat and her? Well, she is a regular warrior, to some they may as well have been from different clans.
Ears twitching at the sound of a cat running, at first, she was panicked that someone found out but let out a sigh of relief when she realized it was just Doveflame. Her Doveflame, the thought made her green eyes shine.
Doveflame grinned as Cloverwind came into view, she had seemed relieved to see her and for a moment, she thought something happened. Cloverwind instantly came up to Doveflame and nuzzled her gently.
"I've missed this." She murmured as Doveflame purred.
"As have I, but it is a necessary must," She replied with sadness.
Being together has taken it's toll on the two, the fact that they were both she-cats had nothing to do with it; as many from the clan had similar tastes. No, it was the simple, yet cliche fact that Doveflame was a medicine cat and Cloverwind was a warrior.
After the initial greeting, the two laid against one another; Cloverwind broke the silence. "Your apprentice has almost finished training yes?" She said softly.
Freezing up, Doveflame knew what this topic brought. Talk of leaving the clan or if she would give up her position, Both; in her opinion were as bad as each other. Yet she could not find it in her heart to give up Cloverwind, she loved her too much.
"Y-yes, they'll receive their name at half moon," She responded with a quiet voice, her eyes showing hints of sadness. It was caught by pale green eyes which soon held guilt.
Cloverwind gave a sigh, "We..we don't need to leave. We do have these secret meetings." She pointed out weakly in hopes of making her mate feel better.
Shaking her head, Doveflame nuzzled deeper in Cloverwind's warmth. "Nothing has to be decided yet. Let's...let's just have this for a while longer."
They met each others eyes and whispered at the same time,
"I love you..."
