Oh god, here they come again. I can hear their footsteps coming up the the hallway and nearing me. I prepare myself to once again be thrashed into the wall, that fiery one, 'Penny', is always throwing me open without a care. Well, sometimes she stops in front of me, and leans in to put her ear up to me, when she's alone. She's listening in to see what the other two are up to I think. I must say, there were some hilarious times the first few weeks they were here, before she learned to do that. She'd waltz up to me, head in a different part of the world, swing me open, and then stop in the tracks. The other two, Simon and Baz, are always tangling themselves together on the couch when she's not around. Anyway, she's learnt now, so the times I'll be thrashed against the wall without a care have narrowed down to when she's with one or both of them. Which is both good and bad. I tend to enjoy a peaceful life, but I also like an entertaining one.
And SLAM, I'm against the wall again. The three of them walk past me, their arms loaded with bags. They start unpacking them into the cupboards, and haven't even closed me yet. I wish they would, this is BOR-ING. If they'd bothered to close me I could look through my other side and watch the hall instead, but no, here I am having to look at them unpack their groceries, or look right at the wall. You might think, that, since we can see out both sides, we'd have some sort of x-ray vision too. But we don't, because, in the lottery of life, we drew the worst card. I mean, most of you don't even think we have a life. Bloody hell, we can't die either, we just have to live eternally, either smashed into bits or in one piece. Well, that's a bit of a lie. We do decay, it just takes what feels like 50 million years.
AN: This is so fun to write. The narrator seems like a bit of a prick, I know, but I like it. Let me know what you think. Likes and reviews are always appreciated! ;)
