If you hang around outside the Wetherspoon's on the High Street you can get a Broadband connection for free, even out on the street. Not a bad deal if you live nearby as they don't have a password for access. Not sure if it's 24/7 as it doesn't do to have an expensive smart phone out after dark.

Not a bad place all round either. They have so many bars and their food is so cheap that they let street people in if it's not busy. There's a room, would have been called the Public Bar way back, that we stick with to keep out of the way of decent people and we send our least unkempt to the bar. They come and serve us when they know we're there - saves embarrassment all round.

Funny thing is, that Sherlock feller and that girl who moons around after Doc Watson also use that room. We thought they were after something at first and sometimes they do ask odd questions. She says they just prefer the company that's kept there compared to the 'Saloon'. Maybe they do, maybe they don't, who am I to say, but it works in our favour. Makes us seem respectable to be hobnobbing with the likes of them and they are very generous with their retainers besides.
