A short but sweet fic set in a Mystery Dungeon-inspired universe.

Disclaimer: I don't own the Pokémon series. If I did, there'd be a Ghost-type Eeveelution introduced in Gen 6.

S is for SenshiShipping(Roserade & Sylveon)

She never wanted to be part of an adventure team. Not really. Despite the fact that she had that cool and mysterious appearance that all Roserade had, she was really something of a pacifist… Okay, she was a coward, and it felt like every time she won a fight, it was by pure accident. Heck, she evolved by sheer accident and didn't even notice it until her friend Beau pointed out how 'cool and awesome' she looked. Ah, Beau. He was the only reason why she put up with the potential dangers and troubles that came with being a team that went on adventures—mainly those that involved the two of them fighting other Pokémon. And, of course, Beau just had to make a show out of it.

They stood near the edge of a cliff as a group of Pokémon passed by below. Beau, a Sylveon for less than a year, and herself, a 3-month old Roserade named Alba-Rosa, had been hired to defeat and apprehend a gang of thieves that had been tormenting the traveling merchants of the town nearby. Alba-Rosa gulped, nervous and shaky. She found herself using her own Sweet Scent wafting from her flowers to calm herself, but her Sylveon companion didn't seem to notice.

"Alright! First, we announce our presence! Second, we make our entrance! I'll use Dazzling Gleam to blind them while you use your Petal Dance to mystify them! Then, while they're mystified, we jump down and pummel the stuffing outta 'em!" Beau exclaimed, his ribbon-like feelers waving about actively.

"R-r-right…!" Alba-Rosa stuttered. She calmed down a bit when she felt Beau's feelers wrap around her arm. She wasn't sure if it was just that weird Sylveon trait of his or if it was simply the fact that he was touching him, but she calmed down and smiled back at him.

"Okay! Ready to knock 'em dead, partner?"

"D-d-dead?! We're supposed to bring them back to be punished!"

"…It's a figure of speech, Rosie. Gosh, we're heroes, not vigilantes. We've totally got the wrong color scheme for that."

"Oh. Heh-heh-heh! I knew that…!"

The Roserade gave one last spray of Sweet Scent to boost her confidence a bit more. Her Sylveon companion counted down, one of his feelers still wrapped around her arm. This wonderful sense of safety, no matter what they would find themselves facing… Perhaps she did have a reason for continuing to do these jobs with Beau. Even if it didn't make sense, and even if she wasn't sure if her feelings for him were returned, simply being in his presence was more wonderful than the strongest of Sweet Scents and the most powerful of soothing Sylveon auras. Alba-Rosa took a deep breath and exclaimed alongside her partner:

"Stop right there, evil doers!"

And thus, the show for that night began.
