Summary: He loved her, he hurt her, she rejected him. Now, two years later, Elizabeth Bennett is being followed by the very man who had once crushed her heart, even though he knows that he has lost the right to love her.

The light hit her hair gently, resting upon those light auburn locks and setting them alight.

She was dressed for the warm, summer weather in gentle pastel colors that greatly complimented her persona.

She laughed at something her fiancé had said, her hazel eyes twinkling merrily at some amusing thought.

Looking at the girl of his dreams, he thought back to the time when they had parted.

Her hair had been mussed and her eyes were red and puffy, making her look a bit like a wild animal. But even then, with her clothing in disarray and tears in her eyes, she looked beautiful to him.

His heart clenched when he noticed her eyes. Elizabeth Bennett did not cry very often and when she did, it was about things very serious. He knew in his heart that she was crying because of him and he wanted nothing more than to take her in his arms and comfort her, but instead he remained cold and aloof.

And now, two years later, she was in front of him once again, the pain gone from her eyes, the tears having dried up long before. He took one long look before turning away from his beloved forever.

He had not meant to hurt her. But now that he had, he couldn't take it back.

He turned his back on the only woman he had ever loved, wishing her the best in life, and feeling horribly remorseful that he had lost her.

Getting into his car, George Wickham sighed, realizing that Elizabeth Bennett was lost to him forever.
