Written for Twelve Shots of Summer - Week 3…
I want to go home...
Not stay in the Underground...
So I had nothing better to do, but roam...
From town, to town...
I was taught to SPARE...
Delivered from the option to FIGHT...
It was because I care...
It was because it was right...
I am no killer...
A subject to fate...
For I won't swing around my weapon, as to feel a thriller...
Life, I won't take...
I have made many friends on my travels...
Mostly by how I SPARED them...
I showed them MERCY, in the thickest of battles...
Even on my last limbs...
But how can I take a life?
How could I do so?
I cannot do that, it isn't right!
These Monsters are not my foes!
I may be taunted by how I refrain from aggression...
By Flowey, a talking flower...
But this is my confession...
My choice is in my power...
But how will I SPARE, when MERCY is destroyed before my eyes?
I can't hold back now, when I know Asgore will keep attacking me...
Everything, anyone at any point, dies...
FIGHT... why is it the only key?
I may not like it...
Even when we've just met...
To raise my weapon, for the first time, to hit...
Is the moment I won't forget...
Forgive me, Toriel... I'm sorry…
I know you taught me to make peace...
But how else will I continue the story?
To the surface, my home, is what I'll reach...
Maybe I'll miss…
To barely make a strike…
Hopefully I will, but there's always a risk…
That I'll do something I'll regret… something, that isn't right…

EeveeGen9988: I bet you're all surprised, but I can do poetry! XD It's quite easy to tell you the truth! But like what I always do when I do poems, I leave the interpretation up to the audience! Or, in this case, it's a bit more straightforward… *shrugs*
If you don't quite understand who's the speaker, it's the protagonist (in True Pacifist Route!) you play as throughout the game Undertale. For those who understand the story, you'll understand! For those who don't understand the story… the answer is simple isn't it: play Undertale, it's an awesome game! =D Trust me, it's awesome! But if you're too lazy to do that… Nah, just play the game! It has an awesome story, unforgettable characters, and jokes, tons and tons of jokes! *thumbs (paws) up* =P But if you don't want to play the game, or watch a gameplay of it on Youtube, that's alright...
