The people of Cosmo Canyon trembled as the horns of the GI tribe blasted their deep notes against the walls. The villages small army was almost entirly wiped out but was just managing to keep the enemy outside the village.
At the main entrance the great warrior Seto, Gaurian of Cosmo Canyon, fought desperately to stop the GI from breaking through, scars covering his entire body to replace his torn fur. He was almost ready to collapse when the eldest of the village, Bugenheagan, called him to the top of the canyon.
Seto ran as fast as was possible to where Bugen, just as worn out as Seto, was waiting for him. Old though he was, Bugen too had been fighting to protect the village, though his great knoledge in magic had saved him from scars of all kinds.
"Seto!" he shouted."look at the GI forces. They are moving three troops around the canyon."
"They must have spotted the back tunnel." Seto knew this tunnel well and knew also how importantit was to keep it safe. "If they get throught we will have nowhere to run if the battle goes ill. We will all be trapped. I will have to cut them off at the exit."
"Ho ho hooo, your bravery never ceases to impress me. I will send other soldiers right after you."
"No!" Seto knew the danger of such a decision. The excitement of the battle must have clouded Bugenheagan's judgement. "The attack on the main entrance is too strong. Lowering its defences will only lead to our defeat. I am afraid I must go alone for my wife and son's sake."
"Then go quickly. I will seal the tunnel when you go so you will have to use the main entrance."
As Seto flew down the tunnel, casting a war of shadows with the flame of his tail, he thought of his son, Nanaki. If anything was to happen to him he had ordered that he be taken out of Cosmo Canyon to Corel Desert for training on the fields. Mabey if Seto survived he could train the child himself.
The end of the tunnel was in sight, the GI tribe was almost there. Seto bounced off a rock to his left and sent it flying down to the enemy. He took a potion and was ready for the attack when he reached the GI.
He thrashed and bit his way through the first wave and used his flame tail to burn the arrows. The GI were famous for their poisoned arrows, turning the strongest foes to stone.
Soon, Seto began to wear down. Strikes were begining to break through his blocks and his reflexes were rapidly slowing down. An arrow, speeding through the air, embedded itsself into Seto's back. He roared in pain but, thinking only of his fellow villagers, still fought desperatly. He would never be able to take on this attack in time to be cured.
And then he saw it. His one chance of saving his village. A pile of rocks stood at the exit of the tunnel, above the mouth of the canyon. If he pushed them over he would be trapped and unable to return to the village but would crush the enemy and save it in return. It was his only chance of saving his family.
He clawed his way to the rocks and waited. When the enemy allowed themselves to be lured towards him he used his best move "sled fang" and sent the rocks straight down onto the GI. He had finaly saved his village in exchange for his own life.
From here, Seto could see the moon, large and pale. As the poison spread and his body stiffened he managed to let out one last howl to let the villagers know he had succeeded. Then, looking at the moon and thinking once more of his son, Nanaki, he allowed one last howl to leave his throat.
The flame on Seto's tail died out.
