Death…the End of Eternity

I stand here waiting for my death,
It shouldn't be long now…
I can hear it calling for me,
Like a maiden calling for her lover lost at sea.
Never have I seen so clearly for what my heart desires,
Now I understand it is my destiny to be lost to the raging fires.
The one thing that I regret,
Will be her painful sorrow.
And it does hurt me that it will soon be impossible to see her tomorrow.
I stare at the violent waves,
And I see one and only one thing inside the raging sea,
My death, it waits there taunting me.
The impact will surely be deadly, since I stand so high above.
Never again will I feel pain or anger…or even love.
And as I let go…I whisper her name for the very last time,
The girl I always wished was mine:
"Relena, don't bother to wait for me."
Author's Notes: In case you couldn't tell that was about Heero descending into death or perhaps hell (how sad, the authoress isn't even sure what it's about.) Now I literally wrote this in probably three minutes, you know how inspiration strikes, so please forgive me for any errors. This is my first Gundam Wing poem posted on Fanfiction.net (my first anything on Fanfiction.net for that matter) although I'm certainly not new to fanfiction or writing/poetry. I hope this poem, however sad and maybe bitter it may have been, will affect you in some way ^_^ Reviews are always welcome!
