Just let me know if I should add on to it.
She assumed her heart had been broken.
This, of course, was because she had also assumed that she had loved him.
She was sad, but somehow not surprised when she had found Natsu kissing her cousin, Lisanna, in the hall closet on the second floor of her house.
She had mourned, cried, screamed, did what most betrayed girls would do.
But her heart hadn't really been broken.
When she found real love, it was different than what she had before. She felt like she was flying, and she damn near went to Mars when he asked her to prom.
It was going to be the night of her dreams. Perfect nails, fabulous hair, beautiful dress. All that was missing was the gorgeous guy. He said he'd pick her up at seven, and her heart had almost burst out of her chest when the time arrived.
He never came.
She wasn't sad, she told herself. She convinced herself, said she was angry. Yet, when she fell into unconsciousness atop the sofa, it was with tears in her eyes.
She was awoken at three AM by a phone call.
He'd gotten into a crash on the way there, they told her. He was in intensive care, they said. He didn't have much time.
By the time she got there, it was too late. She'd barely gotten through the door, when he saw her. She'd barely gotten through the door, when he said, "I love you", for the first, and last time. She'd barely gotten through the door, when his heart stopped, when he left the world with a smile on his face.
Before, she'd assumed her heart had been broken.
That was nothing.
It was now shattered.
She'd never even gotten to say goodbye.
With tears dripping down her cheeks, onto his own, she said her final words to the love of her life, hoping he could still hear her.
"I love you too, Laxus."
