The Project had been started. The aim was to create a new type of spider. The DNA of 20 different existing spiders had been sampled, with small portions of each in test tubes. The test tubes had then been quarantined in Lab 13.

Ever liked to stay away from other people, and everyone always teased her. She hated them all. She was walking alone in the middle of night, brooding on this hate. There was a huge building with barbed wire fences. Suddenly everything went black.

Ever used to live in a small town.

That town just so happened to be near...

Area 5.1

Ever had accidently stumbled upon the main base.

And so she disappeared forever.

I have to escape. I may be a prisoner, but my guard is plain nasty. He loves it when I'm locked away, and when I leave my cell he drags me around on a chain. I'm going to leave at the first chance.

A couple of days later, the chance came. Ever snuck away from her guard while he was eating his mid-day feast. As she crept down the corridor, she heard his roar. Ever ran. Eventually, the guard found Ever. he bound her arms and legs he growled and locked her in the nearest room. That room was Lab 13.

"Shall we start the combining?"

"I suppose so."

"Let the creation of Epic Arachnid begin!"

The walls began to hum and the girl cowered in the middle of the room. Each bit of spider essence flew towards the middle of the room. The girl's skin began to bubble and change. The scientists heard piercing screams coming from Lab 13. The creature broke through its bounds and tore out into the hall.

hWeeks later, the guard wandered through the deserted hallways of Area 5.1. Web, cold, sticky white spider silk, hung from the walls and ceiling. A strand of web shot towards his torso and a huge, hulking shape reeled him in. The guard felt himself being wrapped in sticky, sickly spider silk. The thing sneered, flipping him upside down and hanging him from the roof.

The last thing he saw

A distorted, grinning face, hissing up at him.

The last thing he heard

A hissing voice saying "A little tied up aren't we? You

shouldn't have messed with the Web Mistress."
