Monster

AN: Standard Disclaimer! I own nothing (sad, but true)

The left hook blindsided Jorgan as he came around a bend in the corridor.

"You bastard! I brought you in-"

Oh Kriff! Shan-

The second blow rattled the Cathar's teeth and he braced himself against the assault as best he could. Striking a superior wouldn't be anything new to Jorgan, but hitting this particular officer could be disastrous.

A court martial would be the very least of his worries.

"Shan, wait!"

"Must think I'm an idiot, I can't believe that I trusted you-"

"Stop! Let me exp-"

"Explain? Explain?" the human's citrine colored eyes snapped with fury. "You want to explain to me how you thought it was perfectly fine to move in on the Commander? My Commander?"

"It-it's not like that!"

"Oh? It isn't? You mean I must have imagined the security footage of you pushing her into the storage locker?"

"Fine! Yes, I have been seeing the Commander. But it isn't what you think-"

"And just what is that supposed to mean?"

"Will you give me a moment to explain without trying to kill me?"

"No promises," Shan growled. "Talk. Fast."

"Look, it started after a botched mission. She was angry, she cornered me and I was already upset so I...I just grabbed her. After that...things went...sideways..."

"Sideways?"

Jorgan winced. "Yeah, it sounds bad. But something about the argument, it set her off. I didn't mean for it to go so far. I knew you were together. Kriff, everyone knows you're together-"

"Clearly, that wasn't enough to stop you," the former SIS agent glared at his opponent.

"Listen! I told her to talk to you. I told her you wouldn't like it, but she said she was afraid that this is how you would react!"

"Why wouldn't I be pissed? You were going behind my back-"

"It wasn't about the sex!"

"What?" Shan blinked. "What are-"

"Look!" Jorgan dragged the neckline of his armor downward. Beneath the russet fur lay deep cuts that were clearly still healing. "Those weren't from battle."

"You...you're saying...?"

"It's the Sith. Something about the way they raise them. They twist their desires until it isn't like normal people. She needed to do this, to get some kind of release. She...I'm sure you've seen the bruises and cuts on her, too?"

"That was you? I thought those were from a mission. How could-I would never-"

"Which is why she never asked you. She knew you loved her too much to hurt her, so she sucked it up. She buried that part of her to protect you."

Theron stumbled backward, disbelief scrawled across his face.

"She just needed to blow off some of the pressure she's under," Jorgan pleaded. "She loves you, Shan. She...she didn't want you to think she was a monster."

"A monster?"

The broken whisper sent the Cathar's fur on end.

"Shan-"

"Stop! Just...give me...don't talk to me, I need to think..."

"Shan!" he called before the retreating agent disappeared around a corner.

This is bad, Jorgan thought as he went to find the Commander. This is so very bad.

AN: This was from a writing prompt for 'Angst'. I had the idea earlier than that, but this seemed to fit the topic pretty well.

I live on reviews, yay! Thank you all!
