Always Will
Disclaimer: I don't own them *sigh*.
A/N was recently re-watching TNG episode Encounter at Farpoint and saw this scene. I wanted to write a little tribute to both crews but wasn't sure how. I always loved how this scene showed the two generations together. Hope you all like it!
"Have you got some reason you want my atoms scattered all over space boy?!" it's been about a eighty years and this blasted ship still uses transporters! Why the blazes have someone found a better mode of transporting people?
"No sir But at your age sir I thought you should not have to put up with the time and trouble of a shuttle craft. " Now what did the boy mean by that?
"Hold it right their boy." well if it is a boy, I haven't ever seen his like. Still he is bringing back memories...
"Sir?
"What about my age?"
"Sorry sir, If that subject troubles you." Dammit, boy sounds just like him!
"Troubles me? What's so dam troublesome about not having died?" what's with these youngins? To who on earth would not having died be troublesome? I wonder...
"How old do you think I am anyway?" he probably thinks I am around 100.
"137 years admiral according to star fleet records" dang, he didn't even blink! How does he know, heck how does he even remember that kinda detail?
"Explain how you remember that so exactly." I swear its him, he doesn't blink, absolutely no emotion- I really have stepped back in time.
"I remember every fact I am exposed to sir." That's it, he has to be Vulcan, but the ears and brows aren't right...
"I don't see no points on your ears boy, but you sound like a Vulcan." and a certain ornery one at that!
"no sir. I am an android." oh my god, Spock would have loved him, it's a perfect Vulcan.
"humph, almost as bad."
I turn and continue down the hall. Such a familiar ship- She truly is a beauty, no matter her letter.
"I thought it was generally excepted sir that Vulcan's are an advanced and honorable race." My God, if I didn't know better I would have said Spock was playing a joke on me. However his eyes lack no sincerity.
"Yeah they are, and Damn annoying at times." I can't lie about it. If there is one thing Spock was it was honorable. Dam, I even miss that pointy eared Vulcan, it must be this ship. It brings back so many memories...
"Yes Sir."
"Well it's a new ship, but she's got the right name." I grab the androids arm; I need him to understand what this ships name means to me, how important she is. "Now you remember that, you hear. "
"I will sir." it's more than a statement, as he said, he remembers every fact. Its time this old geezer passed on the torch to the next generation. I give him one last piece of advice.
"You treat her like a lady and she'll always bring you home." she always did for us.
A/N: okay, that was my first fan fiction, please reveiw and let me know what you think!!
