An Unknown Secret
Tails and Cosmo both sat under the stars. They were both spending a night to themselves, just to be together alone.
"Isn't the night when the stars are out just wonderful?" Cosmo asked. "Yeah, but I can think of something more wonderful." Tails responded.
"What's that?" Cosmo asked, surprised. "I have her by my side." Tails smiled. "Oh, Tails." Cosmo smiled. The two both nuzzled in each other's arms. It felt wonderful when just the two of them were together. They could just be with each other.
Cosmo then started to look upset. There was something she knew that she hadn't told Tails yet. Tails looked over at Cosmo, and surprised to see this change in mood.
"What's wrong, Cosmo?" Tails asked, becoming worried. "Tails, there's something that I hadn't told you yet." Cosmo explained.
"What's that?" Tails asked. "Tails... you aren't the first one that I fell in love with." Cosmo responded. Tails was somehow shocked when he heard this. "What do you mean?" he asked.
"Well, before I came here, I had a boyfriend who was named Nova. But, he was unlike what I imagined. He treated me like I was nothing, he made fun of me because I couldn't stand up for myself and worse, he said that no-one would ever want to be with me." Cosmo said.
Tails couldn't believe this. Why would Cosmo be treated like this? "Cosmo, I don't understand. How come I never heard this before?" Tails asked. Plus, she didn't seem like she was ever treated in such a matter as this when she was first with the others.
"I didn't want you to know, Tails. I wanted you to be happy, and I didn't want to end up being rejected by you, just like how Nova rejected me. I must be such an awful person to not be able to say this." Cosmo said. She sounded really ashamed with herself.
Tails could tell that she needed support. Even though he couldn't understand why he never heard this before, he could understand how Cosmo felt during that time.
"Cosmo... you've always made me happy, even when you never realized it. I would never reject you; that's something I would never do. The way you were treated wasn't right, and I would never do something like that to you. And you should never think something like that; you should never think that you're awful. Telling me the truth lets me know that you're not afraid to do what you know is right, even when it could upset others. I'm just happy with you as you are, and I wouldn't want you to change in any way." Tails explained.
Cosmo smiled, hearing Tails say that. "Tails... hearing that makes me glad that I met you. At first, I thought I wouldn't be accepted. But, now that's changed for me. So, knowing that you're with me makes me glad to be here." Cosmo said.
Tails smiled and the two happily hugged. It was so wonderful being with each other, they could help one another whenever they had doubts or worries and they could always make each other happy.
