Socks or Gloves

"Dean, don't scratch. You'll just make it worse."
"Can't stop."
"Yes, you can."
"No, seriously, Sam, I can't stop scratching." Dean curled his fingers and dug his blunt nails into his denim-covered thighs, rubbing furiously. After a few seconds, he reached under his t-shirt to claw at the rash that was currently covering most of his body. He made a low sound of distress when Sam grabbed his wrists and pulled his hands away. His fingertips came away bloody.
"Dean, this curse lasts 48 hours. You've got 44 to go."
Dean's eyes were glassy green. "I'm not gonna make it."
