Repercussion
It had been two weeks since Lana had gained and lost Clark's powers. She had made a massive impact on the many lives to those close to her, one of them being Clark, her boyfriend and so-called soul mate that she wanted to grow old with.
Like that was ever going to happen.
And after thinking about it the whole fourteen days, he had finally come to the conclusion and made his decision. It was just not working and it was time to face it.
Lana was gone again before he woke up and he did not need to guess why because he learned the truth all too well a fortnight ago.
After denying the truth from himself, he had finally accepted that Lana Lang was not that sweet, innocent girl she was before but a cold, dire one that was now living under his roof. And the more days that pass, being with this Lana the more the memory of the old one washes away and the more he starts to resent this Lana, and the less he loves her.
And it was time to end it.
He still loved her but he could not live with seeing her get more aggressive and hateful, pretending she was that sweet girl, the girl he fell in love with once.
And when she comes back, he would be waiting for her. He would end it for the last time.
Love was simply not enough anymore.
Not even for Clark Kent.
