Chapter 1
"Dammit! Where the hell is he?" Ren says throwing another one of the books across the room.
"Ren, calm down."
"It's been a week, Lory... A whole week! And who knows how long it's been for her. So no, I'm not gonna calm down, not until I get her back."
"Ren, look at yourself! You haven't slept in days. I mean just look around you," Mr. Linden says, motioning toward the giant pile of books that covered the library floor.
Seeing it, Ren collapses to the floor with his head in his hands.
"It's all my fault. I should have been there. I-I should've protected her. And now, she's gone."
let's out a sigh and kneels down next to Ren, resting his hand on his shoulder.
"We'll find her. Don't worry."
Ren only wishes that he could believe those words, but right now they just sound like a bunch of sweet nothings.
