We fall out the rift and hit the ground hard. Hanna lands on top of me, right on my back. "Babe. I love you but please get off me."
"I would if Emily moves her big ass off me." Hanna huffs out.
"Hey! This big ass is popping and locking for your way to college. Have some respect." Emily retorts.
"Girls! Get off!" I say, rolling over with enough power to toss them both off me. Emily hits her head on a bed. "My bad. You alright?"
"Yeah. This mattress is quite comfy." Emily pats the mattress twice. "Whoa. Where are we?"
I look around our surroundings. We are in a decent size room. It has a huge hd tv with a Wii U hooked to it. There's a desk with a ton of books and a laptop. On the wall next to the tv is a huge mirror and next to the mirror is what I think are drawers. "Take it the rift drop us off in someone's room." I reply.
"Hey…" Hanna begins to speak as she sits on the bed. "This room feels familiar. In fact, if anything, I would say this is your room Sam." She's right. This room does feel like its mine. Hanna reaches to the drawer by the bed and picks up a picture. "Sam. This is you with a weird bird on your shoulder." She hands me the picture and I do a double take. It was me alright but what really got my attention was the bird on my shoulder. I know that bird from anywhere but that can't be possible. They don't exist.
As if the universe was trying to prove me wrong, a bird comes flying in from the open window and lands on my shoulder. 'Fletchling!' It flutters its wings and relaxes on my shoulder. Oh shit. We are in the world of…
"Samantha! Hanna! Emily! Time to go girls! You are going to be late for your meeting with Professor Sycamore!" An all too familiar voice bellows out from downstairs.
"Who was that?" Emily asks. I don't answer her. Instead I fly down the stairs and met eyes with someone I haven't seen in places for weeks. Staring at me was a woman with a pixie cut raven hair, green eyes that reminds people of moss and was maybe an inch taller than myself.
"Ah. There you are Sammy. You promised me if I let Hanna and Emily stay over, you girls would get up in time for your meeting. Its not everyday that you get a free pokemon." The woman says with a smile on her face.
"A poke a what?" Hanna says from behind me. I didn't even hear them come down the stairs. "Holy shit! She looks like you!" Hanna blurts out as she points the woman and me wide eyed.
"Hanna Marin! You watch your language!" The woman scolds Hanna and Hanna shirks a bit. "I know I look younger but I am her mother."
"Your mother?" Emily says with her mouth hanging up. "You can't be her mother. You look younger enough to be her sister."
My mom laughs and raffles my hair. "I know that I look young and not much taller than Sam herself. It is flattering though even if you two always make the comment that I am her sister then her mother." She laughs and goes back to the kitchen area. I feel a tug on my sleeve and its Hanna.
"That's your mom? Wow. How did she get here though and why was she talking about Pokemon? What the hel…" She looks at the direction of my mom and corrects herself. "...heck is that?"
"Are you seriously right now Hanna?" My mom says, looking Hanna dead in the eyes. "You of all people should know what they are. Your mother is only the champion of the Sinnoh region." Whoa. Ashley is the champion of Sinnoh? "Cynthia would have a Miltank if she heard you ask what Pokemon are." Double whoa. Hanna's mom is Cynthia?
"What and what? My mom is the champion of what? And my mom's name isn't Cynthia. Its Ashley."
"I know that but she goes by Cynthia when she is battling for her title." My mom sighs. "Hanna. Are you alright? Maybe letting you have that extra slice of sitrus berry pie before you went to bed was a bad idea on my part."
Before Hanna could open her mouth any further, Emily places a hand over it. "Umm Mrs. Colvin…"
My mom puts up a hand. "Please Emily. You don't call me that unless you girls messed up."
"Right...umm…" Emily looks over to me and I mouth Vanessa to her. "Right! Vanessa. You said we was late for something? I'm sorry. Seems we have forgotten."
She sighs and points at me. "See young lady? I knew having the girls over last night would cause you to sleep in. You girls always get into something when together. I told you that…."
I cut her off. "I know mom. Sorry. We didn't mean to oversleep. We will get ready for our meeting with him then head off to Lumiose City."
She smiles at me. "Good. Its not everyday you get chosen to do some important work with the professor. I want you on your best behavior. That goes for all of you...especially you Hanna."
Hanna pouts. "I don't even know what you are…" I cut her off by grabbing her hand and dragging her up the stairs with Emily following close behind. "Okay...what the hell is going on? Why is my mom going by a different name? What the hell is a Pokemon? And can we please talk about why i haven't met your mother yet? I mean...you met my mom before."
"Yeah. I never forget how I met your mom. Me tumbling out your bed when she came to check in on you. Oh yeah...made a great first impression."
"Oh please. She likes you."
"Pretty sure she doesn't Han." Emily chimes in.
"Shut up Em." Hanna spits back.
"Anyway…" Emily says, ignoring Hanna's dirty look "...you seem pretty calm about all this. You know where we are?"
I simply walk over to the open window and breath in the fresh area. I look down and see a Ryhorn laying in the shade of a tree, resting peacefully. "Yeah. I know where we are. Girls...welcome to the world of Pokemon. Welcome to the Kalos region."
