In honor of the Road Rovers DVD release I create this CreepyPasta
The Road Rovers
An old cartoon from the late 90's which consisted of a team of 6 canines that were granted amazing powers which they use to save the world.
It's rather unknown to most people, as the series only spanned 13 episodes until its cancellation. Yet recently Warner Brothers has been kind enough to create a DVD of this old series for it's remaining die-hard fans to enjoy
I can't tell you how overjoyed I was when I found out about this news, Road Rovers was my favorite series growing up. It was comedic, cute, with a good bit of action thrown in as well. I never truly understood why it was cancelled so early
Anyway I ordered the DVD offline. Which I soon learned was the primary way to obtain this little series. Back then I just thought Warner Brothers thought the show wasn't worth a big advertisement. Sure it'd make a decent amount of cash, yet nothing big enough to demand a series reboot, or live action movie remake.
A few days later it came in the mail, I couldn't believe it Hunter, Blitz, Colleen, Exile, Shag, and Muzzle were back. It was going to be like those old weekend mornings on Kids WB all over again.
Later that same night I popped the DVD in and let the nostalgia flow over. The DVD was actually a 2 disk pack. The first held episodes one through nine, while the other held the remaining four.
It was so fun to see Blitz again, he was my favorite. An egotistical Doberman who was a pretty boy with a strange obsession for biting bad guys in the posterior. Along with Colleen, a collie who had a great knowledge of martial arts and regally teased Blitz. Those two were so perfect as a comedic team. I especially like episode 3 when Colleen turned into a werewolf and attacked Blitz. Blitz had this girly screen that made me chuckle whenever I heard it
Soon enough though I finished up the first disk and went on to the second.
Yet when it came up to the episode list, there were five episodes
I knew for a fact their were only 13 ever aired on TV. Was this a a special incomplete one? The box said nothing about any special features. The first disk just had the the episodes on it. Yet why not put anything else it that one as well?
Maybe it just had to with how much data could be put into one disk I assumed.
So out of curiosity I decided to watch this new Episode 14
It was titled "Put Down"
I guessed this must have been what got the show cancelled in the first place. I mean any dog or cat owner knew what that meant, so I got myself ready for what I assumed was a dark episode.
It began as usual, the words Road Rovers appearing on the screen followed by that "Barkin scratchin fisbee catching!" little theme song
One weird thing I will point out was that as the song sung and showed little clips of certain episodes, Every so often I'd see one of the Rovers eyes would be missing at a certain point. Replaced with dark, black holes. I shrugged it off thinking this was indeed an incomplete episode and thus things like that would occur throughout
Once the song ended I saw the opening scene. The Road Rovers are eating breakfast, well five of them at least
Colleen is getting some coffee when Blitz walks into the room. He greets her like he normally did, calling her a "Pretty dog girl."
And she responded with her silly teasing of pretending to forget his name, calling him "Blister," and ultimately just watching to call him "Fluffy"
This in turn upsets Blitz and he threatens to bite her. This is where things got odd
Now this was a running gag throughout the show, what should follow is Colleen kicks him away and Blitz goes flying into a wall of something in a comedic fashion
Yet I was surprised to see Blitz caught Colleens foot before she could connect
Looking at the screen Colleen to was shocked by this to
Blitz's eyes grow red with anger as he yells "Not this time bitch!"
I was taken back to say the least when I heard that. No even many today's cartoons sneak a word that vile in an episode. Occasionally "crap" or "hell" sure, yet that's few and far between. And never so direct like this did.
I was then witness to Blitz using his trademark super jaws to bite into Colleens leg, blood squiring out of it as the Doberman followed up with a quick slash across her face with his claws
By now the other Rovers are starting to take action
Hunter yells at Blitz asking what's gotten into him, yet Blitz simply uses his long claws to impale Hunter through the chest and lift him up.
More blood drips to the ground and oozes upon Blitz claws as Hunter begins to gurgle words as his mouth fills up with more blood
Exile, a blue Husky with perhaps the best power of the team. Tries using his signature freeze eye beams to stop Blitz's rampage
Yet the Doberman counters by flinging Hunter free from his impalement and becoming a shield as the beam then hits the Golden Retriever mutt. Encasing him in a block of ice. Through it though I see a look of pure agony is upon his face, along with his eyes rolled back. Hunter is dead
Blitz then uses this new piece of ice to leap in the air and gorge out Exile eyes, followed by a bite to the neck. Exile goes limp and dies soon after
"Am I a weird boy now?! Huh!" Blitz cries out to the dead husky on the floor
He then turns to Shag.
Now Shag is a sheepdog and the biggest coward of the team. Which showed well as he trembled in fear as Blitz walked toward him
Yet Shag then the looks at Muzzle
Muzzle is a Rottweiler who's confined to a straight jacket and dolly. Normally he'd be the deus ex machina for whenever the Rovers were in a pinch
And this looked to be no different as Shag lunged toward Muzzle and freed him from his personal prision
The Rottweiler lept at Blitz. at this point, I expected more carnage. Yet now exactly what I had in mind
Instead of Muzzle obliterating Blitz. The Doberman ducks and sticks his claws in the air. Slicing Muzzles gut open. His inside spilling out of him as he hits the ground
Shag is traumatized now as Blitz continues forward toward the big wimpy dog
"BLITZ!" a voice calls out
Blitz and Shag look up to at a balcony and see Shepard, the human who was responsible for the Road Rovers creation. He's holding a gun in his hands and is ready to fire
"BAD DOG!" Shepard cries out as he pulls the trigger
Blitz reaches into Shags fur and pulls out a launcher. Though out the show Shag was known for pulling convenient objects out of his fur.
Blitz quickly used it to shield himself from the shot, then fires back. The launchers rocket blowing up Shepard
Also red stains appear in Shags fur as I assume Blitz stabbed him as well. The sheepdog falls on his knees and his the ground with a thud
Now only Colleen is left, injured but alive. A fresh cut on her face still dripping
Tears flow from the collies eyes as she to trembles in fear
"W-why Blitz?" Colleen asks
"Why Blitz?" he repeats "WHY BLITZ!?"
The Doberman lifts her up and slams her onto a table it smashes to pieces the upon impact
"So this is what it takes?!" he lifts he up and forces her to see all the death around them
"This is what it takes for me to be taken seriously?!" Blitz yells more "You want to call me Fluffy now?! Want to kick me now!?"
Colleen continues to sob her eyes out as Blitz yells at her
Blitz leans in toward her face. "Admit it, you liked to laugh at me."
Blitz then looks up, he looks right at the screen, at me. Colleen soon follows
For almost ten seconds this goes on, all I hear is Colleen crying, with a brief motion of her silently saying help me with her mouth
"I was just a joke to you wasn't I?" Blitz asks the screen as he slams Colleen's face down "Who's laughing now?"
Blitz them smiles. I swear if Smile Dog had a cousin Blitz would be it right then
I take the DVD out, I don't want to know what's going to happen to Colleen next
I didn't watch that DVD for about two months. Blitz demonic smile still haunted me whenever I even thought about the Rovers
I went online and tried to warn people about it though. The weird thing though was, everyone said their was no episode 14, even after explaining what I saw they the just labeled me as some sick nut
Eventually I decided to prove it to them, I'd record a small bit of the episode as evidence
Though when I put that 2nd DVD in my player, it was gone
It stops at episode 13, nothing more.
I couldn't have imagined the whole thing, could I? I swear what I saw was true, Blitz killed everyone and made Colleen suffer.
I pulled it out and put it back in, nothing.
To this days the disk still only goes to 13, and Blitz smile still haunts my mind from time to time as I watch the series
I figure most of you will just call me a gore loving sicko as well as you read this. Yet if anyone out has seen episode 14, or sees it on the second disk. You're not alone, and please, don't watch episode 14.
The end
